I took two 12 year olds on this excursion and was pleasantly surprised to hear them exclaiming frequently “This is so much FUN!”  Captain DJ was very accommodating and a genuinely nice person who really wants to put you onto fish. His special fishing locations are worth the exhilarating boat ride to and from. We lost count of the ladyfish, mangrove snapper, catfish, sea trout, and jack crevalle that we landed. What a great way to spend 4 hours in Key Largo! Highly recommend this charter… we live in Parkland FL so have done many fishing trips. But Captain DJ will be our regular!

Captain DJ was a great guide. He was very professional and obviously a very experienced captain especially in the backcountry of the Everglades.  We started out catching a few small fish to get warm but pretty soon we were onto tripletail hotspots.  Between my friend and I we landed 6 keeper tripletail and we hooked on to several more.  My friend and I had to cancel an Alaskan salmon trip and the Everglades was our back-up option.  Thanks to Captain DJ it turned out to be awesome.  He even recommended a restaurant called The Catch to bring our fresh catch and it did not disappoint, it was awesome! What an awesome experience!  I’ve hired many guides during my travels, but I can honestly say that Captain DJ provides a world class day on the water. He truly has one thing in mind…putting you on fish!  We left the dock and after a ten minute ride, I caught a beautiful redfish on my second cast. Several species during the day including redfish, snook, mangrove snapper, and jacks. It was an action packed day, and Captain DJ did not disappoint with great conversation, stories, and education about the area. I highly recommend a trip with Captain DJ…I’m already planning my next outing.

The three of us agreed we wanted to find a guide who could target snook, tarpon, and redfish. We are lucky we found Captain DJ. We decided to book a full day. After a short drive from the keys we met up at the Everglades visitor center. After a short carpool drive he unloaded the boat, and within 15 minutes had us on cubera snapper, snook, tarpon, and redfish all caught at the same spot with in 15 minutes of leaving the dock. After this spot was exhausted Captain DJ showed us he wasn’t a one trick pony. We jetted to another spot and caught some really nice speckled trout, and caught triple tail in another. All in all we took several lbs of fresh caught fish home which made a great dinner or two. I’d highly recommend investing your trust in Captain DJ. My brother dad and I did a 2 day all day fishing trip with captain DJ and couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Captain was down to earth great guy and knew the good spots to catch some beauties. Great boat and customer service would definitely recommend. First day we caught a ton of reds and snook, even hooked a massive tarpon that went jumping like crazy. We took our catch to a local restaurant and had a delicious spread made for us, Second day was quite the adventure as captain took us into some pretty cool back country canals. We got lots Of snook and reds again. I had tons of fun and greatly enjoyed our time on the water .
