Legacy Charters is a family-owned business, first started by Captain Mike Masiero and his father. Capt. Mike has passed the torch onto his two sons, Capt. Mike Jr. and Capt. Kyle.
Their two boats are The Kraken,” a 28’ Bertram that’s powered by twin 260 HP Ford engines and completely restored in 2022 and new to the fleet The Kraken II the only 39’ Hatteras Yacht in the fleet!
Both boats have full walk-in cabin with a bathroom. Having enough room for no less than 6 anglers, they are great choices if you’re looking to bring the whole family along for the ride.
Little River is unlike any other port out of the Grand Strand. It offers a wide variety of fish species both inshore and offshore, making it perfect for both longer and shorter trips out. No matter if you’re looking to land some delicious bottom feeders or chase after huge sharks, you’ll have a great time of it! Offshore waters are home to a variety of gamefish like Mahi Mahi, and Tuna!
The price of any given trip includes all the rods, reels, and terminal tackle you’ll need for the day. Not only that but whatever you catch will be cleaned and bagged after the trip at no extra charge. The crew will work hard to make sure you have a memorable time on the water, and 20% gratuity is very much the standard .

Several adjacent charters went out at the same time and didn’t have the as much luck as we did. Captain Mike and first mate Mike jr. were very friendly, knowledgeable and we caught some spanish mackerel and bonita bait fish to use for the nice barracuda we caught and Crab Catchers restaurant cooked some of our catch right at the dock when we got back. Would definitely book again! Thanks Mike & Mike!!

While Sr took care of piloting the boat, Jr handled all the fishing duties and they make a great team. Between fish, Mike Jr educated us about the local area, the fishing inustry, and the fish we were catching. Really felt like he and his dad were part of our group, not just hired guides. I look forward to going out with them again!

We booked a 4 hour trip from 7-11 am. We showed up around 6:30 and were on our way by 6:45. Both the Mikes were great. Mike JR took care of all the equipment while Mike SR piloted the boat. When our 11 year old son started to feel the effects of the heat the crew made he was well taken care of with ice and water. We ultimately decided to call it quits 30 mins early, and again the crew rolled the punches. We caught 5 Spanish Mackerel, and the Barracudas grabbed 3 or 4 more off our lines before we could get them in the boat. All in all it was a great day. We're already talking about coming back in the fall when it's hopefully not so hot.

Captain Mike Sr.and Captain Mike Jr. made the day extraordinary. Had the grandsons on the trip and they both helped make sure the boys had a great day catching fish. We all had fun and would recommend Legacy Fishing Charters to everyone who is looking to have a good day fishing. Lots of fun!!
Captain Mike took me and my family of five out for a beautiful three hour morning family fishing trip. We had an amazing time with Mike and his son. It was my boys' first fishing trip on a boat and the crew made sure they caught some fish on our outing. The boat was also clean and comfortable! I highly recommend and we will visit them again for a longer trip the next time we are in Myrtle Beach!
