Victory Bay Charters aims to provide you with a quality, fun fishing adventure, less than 40 minutes from Downtown New Orleans. Families, groups, and individuals are welcome. Whether you’re an avid angler or a beginner, you’ll receive great customer service while enjoying an adventurous day on the water.

Your guide, Captain Drake Morvant, has over 30 years of experience in the marsh around Lake Pontchartrain. As a full-time guide in South Louisiana, Captain Drake targets Redfish on a daily basis, as well as Speckled Trout, Sheepshead, Bass, and Flounder. If you’re new to fishing, your guide will be happy to patiently teach you everything you need to know.

A trip with Captain Drake means you’ll be riding in comfort and using the best gear available. The boat is a 2021 25’ Blue Wave bay boat. This modern vessel is equipped with all the necessary electronics to help you navigate and find fish. It’s the perfect vessel for pursuing Redfish in the shallows, or safely working the open lakes for Speckled Trout.

No expense is spared on rods and reels and all are kept clean and well maintained. After the adventure, Captain Drake will gladly clean and bag your day’s catch to your preference at no additional cost. Extra ice will be provided as well to keep your filets fresh on your journey home. Kids aged 4 and above are welcome and vests in all sizes are provided. Bottled water is available on board. Bring your own snacks and any drinks you want to keep your energy up. Live bait is an additional $20 per angler.

    Catch the afternoon bite with the afternoon trip. We'll leave between 1 and 3pm, depending on the conditions. Please note that during the summer, there are pop-up thunderstorms every afternoon in the area. Sometimes we can run around them. The storms can delay, or cancel a trip. If you're set on a half day trip, the morning trip is recommended.

Most of my childhood was spent at our fishing camp on Lake Pontchartrain. After serving as an infantryman in the 101st Airborne I returned home to once again, pursue Redfish and Speckled Trout. Over time, I realized that sharing the experience of fishing in our scenic waterways was extremely rewarding. Few things compare to watching a young angler reel in a fish, or an avid fisherman catch their first Redfish. For these reasons, I began guiding. Before my guiding career began, I spent a decade in outside sales, where I learned the importance of customer service, which is a dying art these days. When you come aboard, the trip is all about you. I want you to enjoy yourself, be comfortable, and catch fish.
