What an incredible day on the water with Capt Clinton deArmas.  This Navy Vet knows the waters extremely well, situated the boat on our first spot and my wife was on a fish in 30 seconds.  Then in was a consistent bite for almost 3 hours using live shrimp.  After we caught over 140 white trout we relocated to his next two honey holes where it was speckled trout and a hearty selection of big blue cats.  Clinton taught the wives the techniques of setting the hook and quick biters.  Most incredible was when we returned to the dock he cleaned all the fish and we left with 50+ lbs of filets.  So ready for the fish fry.  THANKS CAPT. DeArmas you were AWESOME!!!

Our family of three booked a fishing trip with Captain Clinton and could not have had a better time!  We were in New Orleans the week of Christmas, booked a trip on December 23, and hoped to catch fish for Christmas Dinner.  We were not very experienced but Captain Clinton made sure we would have a good time and made it a mission to catch fish.  Captain Clinton did a fantastic job - his boat was very nice, he was very patient, an excellent teacher and he cleaned and packaged all of our fish.  When we return to New Orleans again, he will be the only person we ever book with.  Take a look at the pictures I have uploaded, it was a fantastic trip!!!!!

When I asked Captain de Armus why we’re using live shrimp he said, ” Do you wanna catch some Reds?” He smiled and welcomed me aboard his beautiful fishing boat.
We caught fish. It was unbelievable. Between 45 and 50. We both lost count. Mostly reds, golden reds 17- 21 inches, except for three around 30 inches, yeah, 30. Four monster Sheepshead 10 lbs; two huge Blue Channel Cat. And then, like some story book ending, I land a huge Red as the last fish
of the day. With every fish caught , I’d whisper to myself- Do you wanna catch some reds? 
The fishing was great, but even if we would have caught zero fish, those six hours with the Captain, the boat, the endless water passages, the grasses, the birds. Man, I have never seen such birds, flocking, He pointed out that they were Pelicans, white and brown.  He spent the entire six hours teaching me how to catch a RedFish with live shrimp, how and where to hook a shrimp, depending on the shrimps size, at the head or tail technique. He taught me casting techniques. I’ve been casting 40 years. How to extract a shrimp from the live well without disturbing the others. Showed me his beautiful fishing knot, how its lays around the shaft to ensure a hook up.  We became friends and we spoke about what it means to be a Captain, what it means to have lived for fifty years on the banks and fished the salt waters of Louisiana; we spoke of waterspouts and tides, close calls near shore.We proudly spoke about the US Navy, his time, a bit about mine. We saluted at the end. Six hours with Captain Clifton de Armus was one of the greatest experiences of my life.

We booked a 2-day, 3/4-day trip with Captain Clinton. We met at his boat and he greeted us as we have been friends for years. He gave us a tour of the boat and our safety brief. He listened to any concerns and ensured we had everything we needed. He paid close attention to everyone and showed us what to do to make us successful on catching fish. Our first day we caught 127 White trout, 4 Speckled trout and 2 Black Drum. The views were amazing and everyone had a great time. On day 2 we focused on Redfish. The winds were strong,15-25mph but that didn’t stop Captain Clinton. He was able to put us on some beautiful Redfish. We even caught a stingray and a hybrid largemouth bass! His knowledge and experience are second to none. We ended catching a total of 10 redfish with the biggest measuring over 27 inches! Booking with Captain Clinton and the overall experience and memories we all shared were the best. Thank you and we look forward again to our next adventure.

Can’t say enough good things about Captain Clinton. We were worried the entire week up to the trip it would be cancelled due to weather but Captain Clinton worked with us to make sure we still got as much time on the water as possible. And the time we did get was well spent, he took us right to the spot and we fished all day long in the same spot. Caught 50-60 fish with 20-25 of those being keepers. Cleaned and packaged all the fish for us and even recommended a restaurant to get our catch cooked same day. We will definitely be returning the next time we are in New Orleans.
