With Callion Fishing Charters, some of the fantastic angling opportunities that the waters of Marathon have to offer will be all yours. With decades of fishing experience and local knowledge, Captain John Callion will provide you and your family with a fun-filled adventure.

You will spend your day on a 25' SeaVee center console, built in 2017. This is a seaworthy boat with a 300HP Suzuki engine and enough room for up to 4 adult anglers and one kid. It is equipped with a GPS and a fishfinder to save you time while searching for fish. There is also a livewell, which will be loaded with bait to make your hooks irresistible and an icebox to keep the catch fresh during the day.

Callion Fishing Charters has tailored a variety of packages that range from 4 to 8 hours on the water. Each trip can be customized to meet your specific angling needs. Battle the 'Silver King' Tarpon anytime from February through April or spend your day fishing for anything from Bonefish and Permit to Snook, Mangrove Snapper, Yellowtail Snapper, Spanish and King Mackerel, and even various types of Sharks.

All trips include the use of bait, rods, and lures, as well as quality fly fishing equipment if needed. The captain will also cover the licenses for you and your party and will clean the keeper fish when you're done catching.

Great Trip!

My son and I had an excellent time with Captain John and I would recommend him to anyone. We were lucky enough to do two trips with him during our recent stay in Marathon. He is super knowledgeable and it was clear from the beginning, that he has a true passion for fishing. Captain John worked hard to give us the best opportunity for success. He is also personable and we enjoyed his company, which is important when you spend 8 hours with someone. The booking process was simple
and Captain John responded quickly to my initial inquiry and answered any questions. His boat and gear were top notch and we had two successful trips with him. Captain John is a true professional and I am fortunate to have had the opportunity to fish with him. Regardless of your skill level or the trip, you won’t be disappointed if you book with him!

theres never a guarantee when it comes to fishing, but the right boat, tackle and captain certainly help.   My son and I were fortunate enough to both catch nice Tarpon, but couldnt have done that without John, our captain.. he went out if his way to make sure we were in the right spot at the right time.  An amazing experience i got to share with my son.

Highlight of our vacation!!

Afternoon Tarpon Fishing on April 22, 2026 • 2 adults

Fishing with Captain John was the biggest highlight of our 10 day vacation! He worked hard and got us on tarpon. One that my husband got right up to the boat was being chased by a hammerhead shark right at the boat! Captain had to cut out off so it might have a chance to get away. I think we had 7 tarpon on, got 3 to the boat and one giant grouper.
I will book him again in a heartbeat if we're back this way.

Hell of an experience

Morning Tarpon Fishing on May 12, 2026 • 1 adult

I try to do all kinds of fishing when i travel and this trip was one that i will always remember.  Had a blast tarpon fishing and John was an amazing guide.  We had bites starting within 10 minutes of leaving the docks and one of the best fights i've ever experienced.  Tarpon fishing with Callion is a must do when in the keys.

Great Trip

Even with poor weather and murky water, we had a great trip and caught plenty of fish. Captain John put in a lot of effort to make sure we had a good trip despite bad conditions, and we really appreciated it.  My teenage sons really liked catching a variety of fish, even a monster barracuda!
