Step aboard a 21' Cobia powered by a 150 HP Yamaha engine. This craft is fitted with the latest fishing technology, including GPS, fishfinder, and a live bait well. Up to four passengers can cast lines comfortably aboard the spacious deck.
Capt. Buddy will have bait in the live well and top of the line gear ready on board when you arrive. You will have your choice of custom rods, Star Rods, and Orvis rods, complemented by an array of reels by Penn, Shimano, Ovris, STH, and Gold Cup.
Capt. Buddy keeps his equipment in top condition. He sharpens his fish hooks daily and constantly re-spools his fishing line to eliminate line breaks. Rest assured your fishing experience will go as smoothly as possible.
While fishing inshore and nearshore you can catch a wide variety of species, from delicious Snapper to daunting specimens such as Bull Shark, Barracuda, and Tarpon. Capt. Buddy will help you target your catch using the most effective method, whether it's spin or fly fishing. Fly rods are provided, or you are welcome to bring your own.
Captain Buddy LaPointe supplies everything you need, including fishing gear, bait, and fishing licenses. Depending on the species, you are welcome to keep your catch and he will fillet and bag it for you, too.

Captain Buddy put us on the fish almost immediately after dropping anchor. We caught several mangrove snapper and one barracuda at our first spot. Once the sharks came into the game, we decided to pull an anchor and moved to the next spot. Our target fish was grouper. Although we struck out on the grouper, we did land several more large mangrove snapper. Again, we hoisted the anchor and moved to another spot. The first cast, we hooked onto a large Goliath grouper. This fish rocked up, making it a challenge to get him to the boat, but Buddy’s, calm demeanor, guided us in the correct way to wait to fish out and bring them aboard. We landed another Goliath grouper, a Nerf, shark, and several more large mangrove snapper. I highly recommend Captain Buddy for your next fishing excursion. Truely a nice guy.

Captain Buddy was waiting for us at the dock with a smile on his face and was as eager to get out and fish as we were. We fished in the bay where there was snapper, pin, and grouper. He was extemely knowledgeable of the area and of the fish and how to catch them. Captain Buddy is AWESOME. My dad was 66 and he helped him set his bait and made sure the ride wasnt to rough. He let him sit on a cooler too so he didnt have to stand up all the time. If fish werent biting, we would relocate to a knew spot. It was amazing and a truly memorably moment with my dad.

We had an incredible morning on the water with Captain Buddy LaPointe! We caught a ton of snapper, and to top it all off, we spent the end of the trip battling a 5-foot lemon shark and got some great photos. Buddy did an outstanding job of teaching us throughout the trip while making sure everyone was having a great time. If you’re looking for a knowledgeable captain who knows how to put you on fish and create a memorable experience, I can’t recommend Buddy enough. We’ll definitely be back!

Had an absolute blast with Captain Buddy in Marathon! My boys (12 and 15) and I are experienced Bass fishermen from northern IL, and Buddy blew us away. He was awesome from the start and put us right on the action. We caught nine different species and ended the day landing two large lemon sharks, which the boys loved. Buddy is incredibly friendly and makes you feel like family on the boat. A phenomenal, fantastic experience all around. Book with him—you won't regret it!
Captain Buddy made the day so enjoyable for my daughter, son and I. My son caught a barracuda which was the perfect bait needed for the shark catching. We caught 5 nurse sharks between the 3 of us and it took less than 2 minutes from the cast for them to strike! Really enjoyable day with Captain Buddy and he made my kids day for sure. We even got to eat one of the catches, a snapper, at a local restaurant. Pan seared is the way to go for sure!
