With more than 30 years of charter fishing experience to his name, you will find Capt. Buddy to be both knowledgable and friendly. He welcomes anglers of all ages, so bring your family aboard for an experience you can remember for years to come!
Step aboard a 21' Cobia powered by a 150 HP Yamaha engine. This craft is fitted with the latest fishing technology, including GPS, fishfinder, and a live bait well. Up to four passengers can cast lines comfortably aboard the spacious deck.
Capt. Buddy will have bait in the live well and top of the line gear ready on board when you arrive. You will have your choice of custom rods, Star Rods, and Orvis rods, complemented by an array of reels by Penn, Shimano, Ovris, STH, and Gold Cup.
Capt. Buddy keeps his equipment in top condition. He sharpens his fish hooks daily and constantly re-spools his fishing line to eliminate line breaks. Rest assured your fishing experience will go as smoothly as possible.
While fishing inshore and nearshore you can catch a wide variety of species, from delicious Snapper to daunting specimens such as Bull Shark, Barracuda, and Tarpon. Capt. Buddy will help you target your catch using the most effective method, whether it's spin or fly fishing. Fly rods are provided, or you are welcome to bring your own.
Captain Buddy LaPointe supplies everything you need, including fishing gear, bait, and fishing licenses. Depending on the species, you are welcome to keep your catch and he will fillet and bag it for you, too.

Great Half Day of Fishing

My daughter and I fished the half day (AM trip) with Captain Buddy on Oct 20 and had a great and productive time fishing. Captain Buddy is very friendly, knowledgeable and likes to pass on his experience and tricks to catch the various types of fish. We started off catching snapper that we took some to a local restaurant to cook for dinner and froze the rest. We also caught some houndfish. We moved on to catching some baracuda and my daughter caught a lemon shark about 80 lbs that was exciting to watch her reel in. Lastly, we moved on to try for tarpon. We hooked a couple of sizable tarpon around 15 lbs that snapped the lines after breaching surface but all-in
-all it was a fun time fishing with Captain Buddy. I definitely recommend booking a charter with Captain Buddy.

Had a fantastic day on the water. We didn’t just go fishing, we went catching, and Captain Buddy’s experience and knowledge was why that happened.
He did a great job communicating to me before the trip about what to expect, and asking us what we really wanted from the outing. Weather was rough on our original day, so we pushed it to the next day on his recommendation, which was absolutely the right call.
We caught a lot of mangrove snapper, red and Goliath grouper, hound fish, and two 7-foot lemon sharks (long, fun fights)!!
Thanks again for the great time and calm waters, Captain Buddy!!

It was a great two days on the water

Nothing short of an amazing experience. Captain Buddy did a great job putting my wife and I on snapper which made for a tasty “hook and cook”. However, the tarpon fishing will live in my memories forever. If you want to have an enjoyable trip that goes beyond just wetting a line and includes great conversion, learnings,and genuine pride in making your trip memorable.

I hope you have a great season (fishing and business wise) up on “the Lake.” If it gets slow at anytime, just play some Gordon Lightfoot….the fish down here seemed to love it, as did this captain…and it will feel like you actually crossed over the border before the music is over. 😃

A fun morning on the water with Captain Buddy!

My son and grandson and I enjoyed every minute of our morning charter with Captain Buddy. He began with greeting each of us by name and then explaining our plan for catching as much fish as possible, both for the thrill as well as to bring back for dinner. And that we did. From snappers to lady fish to black tip, lemon and nurse sharks, we had a fun day of catching, despite the hot temperatures of August. Captain Buddy is knowledgeable, good natured, patient, great with kids and a real nice guy. We were very happy with our fishing trip with Captain Buddy. We'll surely return and go out with him again, next time in the Spring for a different variety of inshore fish.
By the way, I dont know which was more delicious, the mangrove snapper or the black tip shark, but we fed a hungry family of six tonight with enough leftover for lunch tomorrow!
