We had a great time with Patent Pending Charters! The trip was a belated birthday celebration for my 15-year-old son and four of his friends, and Captain John and first mate Ronnie made it a fantastic experience. Captain John was great about communicating before the trip and making sure we knew exactly what to expect. The fishing started a little slow, but we ended up catching our limit, and the kids had a blast! Captain John and Ronnie were patient, helpful, and did a great job teaching the kids how to bring in the fish. They even filleted our catch when we got back, and we ate well that night. Great experience all around—we’d definitely recommend them!

Unbelievable day out with Patent Pending. It was a scorcher at 100 degrees but we still landed 28 fish in record time thanks to the Captain John's own custom-invented lures. He literally designed the gear he fishes with, and it worked like a charm. Boat was clean, ride was comfortable, and the both Captain John and Rick were awesome with our boys, teaching them what to look for and getting them hooked on fishing for good. Our neighborhood had a feast tonight. Highly recommend — we're already booking again for the fall!

Capt John and First Mate Ronnie were absolutely wonderful. They were very flexible, most kind, and were filled with good stories and funny jokes. It was a very warm day, but the boat was super clean, spacious, and had AC. Capt John and Ronnie got us out on the water and on the fish without delay. We were fortunate to catch our limit of Bluefish and the Capt treated us to pan searing some of the catch for us to taste. It was an unexpected extra touch. Will def schedule another trip!!!! EC

thank you, Eddie. You guys were great. Look forward to seeing you again soon.

Capt. John and Rick were amazing during our family fishing trip. They were very helpful and shared a lot of information related to fishing, fish, rods, reels, lures, lines, etc. My entire family thoroughly enjoyed the trip, and we would definitely go fishing with Capt. John again. Rick was great with working with my children and other first timers. They were both patient and very eager to make sure we had fun and enjoyed our experience.
Within the first hour of the trip, we had catched four good size strippers. We hit our limit within 3 hrs of the journey. John and Rick are extremely knowledgeable about the bay, fishing techniques and provided clear guidance when we needed them. Also, They are amicable, polite and caring. One of our anglers was feeling sea sick and they made sure he was feeling OK. The vessel is in extremely good shape and very well matained. We returned to the dock early as we hit our fishing quota. Something to keep in mind, is that Maryland regulations dont allow for more than 1 legal size stripper per person. We will definetely be returning customers! Thank you Capt John and Rick for an amazing time. 🛥️🎣

Captain John is a second-generation fisherman who served in United States Coast Guard. He grew up in the bay, so being a fisherman is something that came naturally to him! He has fished in this area all of his life, and loves targeting anything from Rockfish to Red Drum to Mackerel, but especially Striped Bass. He spent some time as a businessman working in the catering industry, and now that he's retired he loved nothing more than spending his time fishing and introducing new and experienced anglers alike to these waters.
