Operating out of Stevensville, JadeLady Charters specialize in inshore fishing and crabbing. They are located on Maryland’s eastern coast, at Kentmorr marina, fishing the magnificent Chesapeake Bay, home of the Striped Bass and Maryland Blue Crab.
Born and raised on the Chesapeake, Captain Marion Kaufman has been a captain for more than 35 years. He developed a passion for fishing at a very young age and has spent innumerable days on the water, both commercially and recreationally. Capt. Marion can’t wait to share his knowledge with you.
The “JadeLady” is a 42’ custom-made bay boat built by O’Neal Jones that has been incredibly well maintained over the past years. It can take up to 6 anglers and features a 300 HP John Deere 6076 engine with a maximum cruising speed of 16 knots.
The boat includes all safety gear and marine electronics needed for a top day on the water. The cockpit area is very spacious and features a dinette and an electric full-head bathroom for maximum comfort.
The captain will show you the most productive inshore fisheries and teach you the most productive fishing methods, including light tackle bottom fishing and trolling. You’ll be focusing on Striped Bass, but you can also expect to land White Perch, Bluefish, and Crabs.
When it comes to having kids on board, the preferable age is 5 and older. Younger children can go too, but the parents need to be very dutiful.
All packages include top-notch tackle by Penn, lures, and bait if needed (prepared in advanced and sometimes additionally charged). Fishing licenses are also covered by the charter. There is an additional fuel surcharge.
After the trip, the crew will even clean and package your catch for you to take home. The first mate will be present on most of the trips and 15-20% gratuity for his efforts is customary.

Took my teen boys on their first boat fishing trip with Capt Marion and Shawn. Busy day so many of the spots were crowded and high pressure. The wind and tide also made positioning difficult. Howeve, Marion and Shawn were determined to ensure we didnt get skunked and came through for us staying out later than planned. We ended up with several keepers and good memories. mission accomplished.
Took 6 of us out for a morning fishing charter including three children. Between Captain Marion and 1st Mate Rick we were able to catch our limit of rockfish in a couple of hours. What happens after you’re limited out earlier into your trip, you ask? Well they took us to a different spot where we put out a trot line for crabbing which we made four passes on and each of my children got to crab for the first time. We ended up with 6 big rockfish and a full big bushel of crabs. Both the captain and first mate were excellent with children
it was a great experience we love it I recommend this trip , we catch rockfish and it was fun we was waiting for this moment , the captain and crew was really nice this trip was one of the best because we had fun and we also like it , and of course we going back with othes guests , for future guests I personally I recommend it thanks to the captain and his crew !
We caught 2 large keepers on a great day to be on the water. Captain and First Mate worked hard and were well prepared.
it was the best trip that I ever could’ve imagined. We caught over 70 fish and a half day trip the Capt. and his crew were amazing. I could not have been happier for the way they helped me my niece and nephew above and beyond any expectations that I had.
