Kayak Fishing Fever

I was on a work trip to Singapore and had some time to spare. I'm so happy I found this trip. Everything was taken care of, I only need to bring my hat, perfect for a business traveller like me that packs light. Aaron was a brilliant guide with lots of entertaining stories about fishing and Singapore, He taught me the techniques of kayak fishing, and I feel confident enough to go kayak fishing on my own now. We caught lots of small and medium size groupers and snappers. If you have a morning to spare in Singapore, highly recommend you give this trip a go!

This is my first (and definitely NOT the last), fun and memorable experience with kayak fishing. Highly recommended for all! A few days before, our guide, Aaron, was thoughtful enough to email us details regarding the trip and a few tips on things to prepare such as motion sickness pill, and sunblock, for a more enjoyable experience. On the actual day, we were headed straight to the sea after a short safety briefing, with all the equipment set up beforehand by our guide. We were brought to a few different fishing spots in the vicinity with both amazing views of Singapore as well as high frequency of bites. We manage to catch a few fishes with the guidance of our guide. There was never a dull moment during the trip especially with such a fun guide with us. Other than being a good guide, Aaron is also a brilliant photographer, where he helped us capture our fishing moments throughout the trip.

Came here for Singapore's F1 weekend and wanted to do some fishing in Singapore. I've never explored the mangroves before, so I was psyched when I saw an option to fish and explore the mangroves at the same time! Fishing in the mangroves was amazing, I got to see so many of Singapore's wildlife. I spotted the mudskippers, the eagles, the king fishers and a huge monitors lizards. I was taught how to anchor fish and also how to do drift fishing, I landed about 4 medium sized fishes in total. Finally, I love that it is a private tour, I got the full attention of an expert guide to myself! I'll highly recommend this to anyone that wants to try a new and fun way to fish!

Booked a trip with Capt. Aaron for a kayak trip to the Ubin mangroves for mangrove barras. Arrived at the launch area at 6.30am and Aaron was there all set up with two kayaks ready to go; i reckon he probably slept in the kayaks. After a quick tutorial on using the fish finder and safety points, we were off. With the fish finder, locating bottom-feeder fishes was easy. The rod pulsed with bite; just got to know when to set the hook. However, I wasn't prepared for aggressive fishes that took the bait and surged back to their hole. The underwater structures on-route to the mangrove were impenetrable fortresses for these aggressive fishes. Once they took the bait and settled back in their hole, the fight was over. After many failures and retying of knots and rigs, success came in one Goldband snapper that I managed to keep out of their fortress with a high rod tip and a higher drag setting. This little market size fish punched above his weight class as he kept making dives back to his hole and torturing the drag. The fight also loosened the reel from the rod, poor equipment management on my part, and it dropped into the sea with the bail open when handling the fiesty fish on the kayak. After this episode, we continued to the mangroves, the scenery was an absolute knock-out. The green foliage and symphony of cicadas is an excellent break from the concrete jungle. Fishing for barras was uneventful as it seems they were shut down that day. Maybe they were well-fed from the recent rain bringing down insects from the trees. Nevertheless, its rejuvenating for the soul to experience nature from this perspective. The day belonged to the fishes that day as we lost more fishes, rigs and bait to them than bringing them to the kayak. Aaron was a superb guide that day. From the photos, you can tell he wasn't fishing much himself but out there to ensure his guest is having a great time. This guy is passionate about kayak fishing and he wants to share his experiences with his guest. Thank you Aaron.

i have never kayaked or fished in my life and i gave my first to Aaron. BEST DECISION EVER! For someone like me who have zero experience, Aaron was very patient to guide and share his knowledge and showed me parts of Singapore from a different perspective. The tour was very well planned from the equipment, routes, introduction to attractions, safety precautions, communications etc. i felt very comfortable and i enjoyed every second of it. Thanks Aaron! Already looking forward to the next session!

I've booked this trip for my boyfriend because he's really into fishing! We chose the easier and shortest route and it was an absolutely blast! We caught plenty of fishes and learnt the different techniques of kayak fishing! Highly recommended for experience fisherman and total beginners like me.

Although it was my first time fishing, I was able to fish a number of fish as Aaron (the guide) was very helpful and thorough in teaching my how to fish. It was an amazing experience and I would recommend it to anyone visiting Singapore. A must try activity!!

It was so much fun. With cool and fun captain we got more than 10 fishes. As the weather was not hot we can totally enjoy the afternoon tour. I recommend this tour. You can also exercise a lot. My asses gain much muscles after the tour.
