Setting off from Key Largo, home to the only living reef in the US, you're a stone's throw away from the deep offshore waters, and Captain Jim Mulcahy knows exactly where the sweet spots are.
Powered by a 490 HP Cummins engine, you'll be more than comfortable drifting along in the spacious 34' SeaVee center console boat, which also makes sure you have 360-degree visibility. Fitted with outriggers and downriggers, your chance of catching that lucrative fish is enhanced by the equipment on board. All rods and reels are also of the highest quality, made by Penn.
Try your hand at kite fishing for a Sailfish, or troll along for some tasty Mahi Mahi or the smaller Yellowfin Snapper. If you're lucky, you may even cross paths with a Swordfish, which will not only put up a good fight, but also provide you with a luxurious dinner afterward. You'll be mainly fishing with live bait, prepared before the journey for you, while Capt. Jim will clean and prepare your catch for you to take home.
You can also take advantage of the 'Diving Capital of the World' by letting the captain know that you'd like to use his scuba diving equipment. They spent the entire day scouting for birds with binoculars to find the schools of Mahi Mahi. We caught limits and had a great time. My 7 year old son caught his first solo Mahi and many more after that, said it was the best trip of his life. Multiple 4 fish hookups and the crew did a great job helping us land fish after fish. Amazing boat that rides smooth and is well kept and stocked with nice gear. Would definitely recommend this charter. They are experienced and friendly.

Both were very friendly and gave awesome recommendations on where to take our fish to get them prepared. The boat was very clean and in order. Sean was on top of getting bait back in the water and making the whole process run very smoothly. Overall excellent trip and crew and would recommend to anyone that’s wanting to have an amazing fishing trip in key Largo.

3/4 Day Trip on January 11, 2024 • 5 adults • 2 childrenConsidering unexpected weather and big seas and Jim was working alone he did a great job. Put tuna and snapper on the boat and the captain was very conscientious about releasing small fish carefully so they had the best chance of surviving. The boat was great and handled some pretty big swells well. The Captain had live and frozen bait on-board but we took a little time to catch live ballyhoo by line and net which was fun and interesting. By day’s end we had three nice tuna and four nice snapper which were cleaned filleted carefully and bagged up well. All-in-all a great day on the water with nice fish to show for it.

My Charter with Fins and Feathers, from the very beginning the Captain put us on fish. The ocean was a little bouncy. The Captain Jim and First mate Mark were very experienced. After a short period of time we moved farther out where my DREAM Charter came true! I caught 5 Sail Fish, Mahi and several other fish. My arms got tired of reeling in fish I caught so many. Saying thank you for the best Charter ever is an understatement . I highly recommend booking with them for your next Charter.

Took a minute due to some rough seas, but Captain Jim got us us on the fish and the five of us all got a couple. Everything was included and taken care of including cleaning the fish. We were five pretty big guys and there was room for all of us on the boat.

Captain Jim Mulcahy was born and raised on the Florida Keys, taking after his father who was also a fishing boat captain. Since 1989, he himself has been a fishing boat guide, opening Fins and Feathers in 2007, and is a USCG-registered captain. Capt. Jim's passion doesn't end at the Keys, however. He is known to run boats in the Maryland and even Bermuda and the Bahamas. While in the Bahamas, he managed to reel in a 598 lb Blue Marlin in only 35 minutes, so his experience is second to none.
