Captain Jim Mulcahy was born and raised on the Florida Keys, taking after his father who was also a fishing boat captain. Since 1989, he himself has been a fishing boat guide, opening Fins and Feathers in 2007, and is a USCG-registered captain. Capt. Jim's passion doesn't end at the Keys, however. He is known to run boats in the Maryland and even Bermuda and the Bahamas. While in the Bahamas, he managed to reel in a 598 lb Blue Marlin in only 35 minutes, so his experience is second to none.

    My Charter with Fins and Feathers, from the very beginning the Captain put us on fish. The ocean was a little bouncy. The Captain Jim and First mate Mark were very experienced. After a short period of time we moved farther out where my DREAM Charter came true! I caught 5 Sail Fish, Mahi and several other fish. My arms got tired of reeling in fish I caught so many. Saying thank you for the best Charter ever is an understatement . I highly recommend booking with them for your next Charter.

    Captain put us on fish as soon as we got to the spot, first mate is awsome handling the rods ,bait and chaos of every rod bending over and making surewe went up over and under to land every fish , also everyone in our group caught the biggest and best eating fish of our lives he also filleted all our fish when we got back to the doc thanks to the cap and first mate for an awesome experience definitely highly recommend goin out with them!!!!

    On the fish.

    Half Day Trip • 5 adults

    Took a minute due to some rough seas, but Captain Jim got us us on the fish and the five of us all got a couple. Everything was included and taken care of including cleaning the fish. We were five pretty big guys and there was room for all of us on the boat.

    Full Day Trip • 1 adult

    Captain Jim and his first mate Sean were awesome. Super knowledgeable and we stayed on fish all day. All around great dudes to spend time on the water with. Taught me about what we were doing and why and even gave me some spots to go to for the rest of my week here. Ended the day with four sailfish, two blackfin, and two barracuda. Would recommend them to anyone.

Fishing off key largo has been excellent this January. The sailfish bite has been good averaging 3 to 6 hook ups a day. Reef fishing for mutton snapper and yellowtail snapper has been very productive
