Capt. Mike is Coast Guard licensed and insured with a true passion for fishing. He has over 15 years of experience in the angling industry, and uses his wealth of knowledge to help his guests have a fun and productive day out on the water. Whether you’re a seasoned fisherman or want to take your family on a special vacation, Capt. Mike can’t wait to show you what these waters have to offer.
You’ll be cruising the Columbia River on a 22’ River Wild aluminum vessel. She’s perfectly built to explore these bountiful waters, and can accommodate up to 6 anglers. Onboard, you’ll find all the necessary safety and navigational equipment, including GPS, fishfinder, and life jackets for adults and children. You’ll have a comfortable and productive day of reeling ‘em in!
Most often your journey will start from the Astoria docks. Capt. Mike uses the weather, fishing regulations, and local fishing reports to determine exactly where the hottest fishing grounds are. As for the species you’ll be targeting? Depending on the time of year, you’ll be going after Coho and Chinook Salmon. If it’s not Salmon season, you’re still in luck— Steelhead and Sturgeon inhabit these waters all year round.
Your trip includes top-quality rods, reels, natural bait and lures to tempt your catch. Capt. Mike will clean and fillet your haul after your trip. If you want to give other anglers a chance to reel ‘em in, then catch and release is allowed. All you need to bring is some warm clothes and a valid Oregon fishing license.
