- Background
- I started fishing at an early age and from there it became my primary passion. I spent many days enjoying time on the water with friends and family and I even spent a couple summers commercial fishing for Tuna and Rockfish during my college years. Eventually I earned a degree in fisheries and started a career in research and aquaculture. Still yearning for more time on the water fishing I decided to get my captain's license to become a fully certified fishing guide. Hazen's Guide Service LLC was formed soon after with the help of my lovely wife. Together we run a family owned business that strives to give all of our guests a top notch experience from start to finish.
- Techniques
- Our style of fishing varies depending on the boat, location and species of fish we are targeting. Out of the powerboat we mainly troll with bait and artificial lures. We also anchor fish where we target well known travel lanes and intercept salmon, steelhead and sturgeon as they migrate up the river. When fishing out of the drift boat however we take a more hands on approach where you spend the day with the rod in your hand casting lures with or without bait as we float down the river. All techniques we fish are suitable for the beginner or novice angler.
