Bass fishing in the Dominican Republic?! Among tourists, the Dominican Republic is best known for amazing offshore fishing, but the locals know just how great freshwater fishing is. Jimenez Bass Fishing Tour will take you on a journey around the magnificent lakes and rivers of this country. Captain Amaury Jimenez runs these trips year round!
Your trip will take place on a 17’ Nitro bass boat that accommodates up to 2 guests. Powered by an 85 HP Yamaha engine, it can reach a maximum cruising speed of 35 knots. The boat has a fishfinder, safety equipment, an ice box, and a live bait tank.
Your fishing location depends on the duration of the trip, as the captain wants you to spend more time fishing and less time traveling. The most common fishing spots are Presa de Monicon and Presa de Bao. Catch and release is encouraged, but you can keep the fish if you’re up for a tasty, well-earned meal.
The captain will provide most of the fishing equipment: Shimano and Daiwa rods, live bait, snacks, and drinks. You need to bring reels and tackle, while a fishing license is not necessary. Transport from the airport can also be arranged at a reasonable price.
Offshore sportfishing is not all there is in the Dominican Republic. Explore this hidden gem and make long-lasting memory!
