Texas City at the heart of Galveston Bay represents the best of Texas inshore fishing. Located on the Galveston Bay, Fishin' Hookers will take you to every corner of the world-renowned bay for some exceptional inshore fishing. Captain Campbell is a Galveston Bay native and has over 50 years of experience fishing these waters. With a background in marine habitation, he knows exactly where to find the fish, so he's the 'Old Salt' you want to show you around. Although you'll be exactly where the best chance where many fish species can be landed, it's called fishing, not catching.

Up to 3 anglers(600 pounds max weight)plus the captain can head off from the marina aboard a 19' Mako center console. With near 365-degree vision and plenty of space to steady yourself under the shade of a great T-Top, she's a true fishing vessel. Equipped with a fishfinder, GPS, and live bait well, you'll be at an advantage as you try to discover and catch the great fish in the bay. A light boat, a 90 HP Suzuki engine is more than enough to get her, and you, speeding off to the sweet spots.

Under Capt. Campbell vessel rules he recommends heading between 3-12 miles away from the launch, where you'll start casting. Try jigging, spinning, and bottom fishing, as you hunt the inshore flats, along with the Gulf's reefs and wrecks, for exciting species. Beautiful Redfish is a must for any angler, while delicious Flounder is a delight on anyone's plate. With Black Drum and Speckled Trout on offer too, there's no end to the fun you'll have. Remember again – it's called fishing, not catching.

Your catch will be put on ice right away, but make sure to bring some snacks and drinks to stay refreshed while on board. You should also purchase your Texas fishing license before coming aboard – try online at Texas Parks and Wildlife. And that's it, you're ready for a productive day on the water with Fishin' Hookers!

Get down to southern Texas's biggest gem and experience the Galveston Bay.

Outstanding Guide For Galveston Bay Area
Half Day Trip – Evening (MAX 2) on August 29, 20251 adult
This was my 2nd time to book “Fishin” Hookers this summer. GW Campbell is a native of Texas City who grew up there then became a very experienced pilot for many years. Great combination of skills to have fished an area all your life and have a pilot’s appreciation of weather, tides, wind direction, water depth, etc. As we fished half a day he made sure to schedule it at best time to fish that day given flexibility of my schedule and his. We caught fish throughout day and I had an all round great time.

Very Experienced Guide
Half Day Trip – Evening (MAX 2) on August 1, 20252 adults
I was very pleased to fish with Captain Campbell as my guide for fishing in the general area of Galveston Bay near the Texas City Dike. It was a 3 pm -7 pm late afternoon trip during an outgoing tide. We caught fish most of the afternoon that were a nice mix of game fish and other fish that are challenging to catch. It was not ideal conditions but we did well thanks to his expertise and familiarity with area we fished. I highly recommend him.

September fishing trip
Half Day Trip (AM) on September 7, 20231 adult
As they say you are never too old to learn something in life. Had an awesome trip with captain Gary yesterday morning. The very first stop and we were on the trout. As the morning continued though something changed that I never knew about my whole life. As we moved around the bay to different fishing spots we began to notice dolphins! Now mind you when anyone sees dolphins swimming close by they are certainly in awe as I was at first until Captain Gary explained to me what their intentions were! We continued to fish and they continued to follow. Little did I that these dolphins were feeding on the fish that I was there to catch! They create a stir in the water that totally disrupts the catching part of fishing! Lol things pretty much shut down at that point but I was amazed at the knowledge I gained about dolphins. Thank you Captain Gary for a fun trip and my chance to just get away from the daily grind of work and stress. I would recommend this charter to any and all. A1+++

Rainy Day Pattern Change SkipJack VERY Active
Half Day Trip (AM) on September 2, 20222 adults
Good boat, bait and gear. The salt/fresh water mix was off, we marked LOTS of BIG Reds very deep and suspended trout just could not get them to move and bite aggressively and the SkipJack were overly abundant and stealing bait. Sport-Fish had no discernible, consistent pattern before the pending weather change. Would suggest customers cut Captain some slack as he is a cancer and heart attack survivor and has lost some muscle and may have recently had a mild stroke. (Get that checked Capt) Why am I saying it? Because I'm 55 amd handicapped myself. Be aware and extra mindful and courteous. He is an experienced fisherman who MIGHT need an extra hand or could lose his balance if trying to bring in a huge Fish. I'm not saying he needs help or would require it, just be ready to help and don't be a jerk. Me being handicapped myself (and it's not immediately visually obvious) I like when people know in case they have to help or they see me stumble or lose my balance. I have huge respect for the Captain and his abilities and his drive to keep fishing into his "retirement years." He has a few years on me and deserves respect for continuing to run a charter. It is a tough gig. If you happen to get skunked or not limit out, it isn't him, it is the Fish and conditions. He knows his stuff and the surrounding water well. Did we catch keepers? No! Captains fault? No! Use him again? Yes! Ide highly recommend him espeacially for a parent/guardian + child or a BF/GF trip because he has a humble soft-streak, that kids and women would appreciate. We had a good, safe time even without catching the desired fish species. We marked good fish all 4 hours, too bad SkipJack were all over the place and the sports fish weren't biting heavily. It was one of those days where you couldn't buy a solid bite with blood in the water.

I’m humbled by your words. You guys are great jokers, funny, accommodating and yes, blessed as well. I couldn’t control the weeks of season change weather but did get the sunset trout shot for ya!
