Flounder, Blacktip Shark, Redfish, Spotted Seatrout, Bull Shark, Tiger Shark, Alligator Gar, Jack Crevalle, and more inhabit these waters if you come at the right time of year. On these trips, it's common to drift and bottom fish using light or heavy tackle.
Steel Salty Charters welcomes kids aboard, so the whole family can come and unplug for the day! If you don't have a child-sized life vest of your own, be sure to ask if there's one on board. Also, remember to bring snacks – lucky for you, there will already be some on board!
Your fishing machine for the day is a 24' Bay boat with room for 4 passengers. It has everything you need for a productive day on the water. Your captain has rods and reels for you. Any fish within the legal limit is yours to keep. Plus, you can have your catch cleaned. Now that's dinner!
You might need to buy a local fishing license before the trip. This information is usually available online, or you can ask the captain. Some species might be protected or require a tag to keep them, so make sure you know what to expect.
It's recommended to bring bottled water, sunscreen (non-spray), and sunglasses. Drinks are included, free of charge. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, so long as you avoid hard liquor and glass bottles. There will be some light snacks included on board.

Captain Colton was nothing short of great. He stayed patient, helpful, and friendly throughout the trip. Even though it was a rough day on the water, he still made sure we left with memories worth keeping. You could tell he genuinely cared about making the experience special he didn’t rush and wouldn’t call it a day until he felt we got the most out of it. That kind of effort makes all the difference. Cap. Rey is one of the best captians ive had on a charter and he knew all the right spots to fish at. we caught our limit within the first 1-2 hours on trout. great vibes, music and and all out great time. will be back!!

My buddy and I were visiting from out of state and booked with Steel Salty. 100% recommend booking with them. We were guided by Captain Morgan who made the trip extremely memorable and fun. He also knew the best local spots to grab some food and drinks. If you’re looking for a charter in the Galveston area. This is your best option. Almost every cast we were nailing fish. Catching between 5 or 6 different species.

Took a 4 hour trip and caught a lot of black drum, a few red fish, a flounder, and a shark. We will be booking again in the future. The captain was patient with my 13 year old son and taught him how to be a better fisherman.
