The Captain we booked handed us off to his brother. At booking I had confirmed that we would use live bait, but he only came with one pack of frozen bait. We trolled around many anchored boats that were landing fish constantly, but we only got 4 fish in 4 hours. I asked why we didn’t anchor, he said his anchor rope wasn’t long enough - we were in 35 feet of water! The trailing hook on my rig broke off, but he wouldn’t replace it. We only had 2 rods & reels on the boat, no spares. There was only a hole in the gunnel where my rod holder should have been, making it hard to remove the rod when a fish was on. The motor ran so rough it wouldn’t idle. He never changed his tactics when we weren’t getting hits until in the last 10 minutes we fished drifting and immediately caught 2 of the 4 fish. Then he called time and we had to leave. We even gave him a 15% tip and he acted pissed that was all we tipped.
