Freebird Charters is based out of Gulf Shores Alabama. The company is run and operated by Captain John, a professional and experienced guide who knows all the hot spots where the fish are hiding. He has multiple captains running the trips with him. If you are looking for a wonderful day on the water catching several different types of fish, you have chosen the right charter to help you do so.
Enjoy your fishing trip with Freebird Charters aboard a 24' Blazer Bay center console, which comes powered by a 250 HP Suzuki engine. Originally built in 2009, and can comfortably take up to six anglers. It has a maximum cruising speed of 35 knots and is rigged with navigational electronics, including a GPS, a VHF radio, and a fish finder. The vessel is wheelchair accessible and is equipped with a live bait tank and an ice-box to keep the fish fresh during the day.
Freebird Charters can customize a trip to meet any angler's wishes. From a casual trip with the family for some tasty inshore fish to an expedition of shrimping and watching the dolphins - a light-tackle charter is sure to suit your needs.
You will be targeting White Trout, Whiting , Black Drum, Redfish, Sheepshead, Spotted Seatrout, King Mackerel, Pompano, Stingrays, Black Tip Sharks, Blue Crabs, Bluefish, and who knows what else!
A trip with Freebird Charters comes inclusive with all the necessary equipment to make a great catch possible. You will be provided with rods, reels, tackle, lures, and live bait, as well as the fishing licenses for you and your group. If you decide to keep the catch, it will be cleaned and filleted for you at the end of the trip, ready for a ride home. You can feel free to bring your own drinks and snacks with you on board the vessel.

Our fishing excursion was fantastic. Our captain, Jerry, was fun and engaging. He helped us bait our hooks, and told us where to cast. We caught fish, they fileted them for us, and told us how or where to cook them. As a widowed mom, this was a fantastic way to take my two college aged sons fishing. We had the absolute best time hanging out on the boat, catching fish, and making great memories. We have already talked about doing this again next year! We recommend John's business, and especially Captain Jerry!

They went above and beyond to make sure my teenager had a great time for his first experience saltwater fishing. We live in Oklahoma and he is an avid fisherman, I dont think he will ever catch another fish that gives him the excitement that catching the sharks he caught did. Thank you so much! We had a great time. Caught some fish and had a nice boat ride. 2 hour trip was perfect for us with our 10 year old. Captain was super pleasant! Would definitely go again. next ti.e deep sea fishing!

David was very gentle and kind with our 6 year old and 8 year old. He taught them each step patiently and made sure that they caught enough fish. He consistently emcouraged them and made them feel proud of their technique and the fish they caught. Besides making it fun, David also taught them new skills.

Taking my 8 year old grandson on his first trip was a bit worrysome. But upon meeting Captain Jerry of Freebird changed it all. He was excellent working with my grandson who can be more than a tad shy. Showing him the ropes on how to cast, reel, and even hook while maintaing a paitent and kind persona is a quality that few have. I would highly recommend this charter for anyone with young kids and adults alike.
