Owned and operated by husband and wife Randall and Sarah Duran, they will ensure you have a fantastic day out with them! They have a team of dedicated local captains who have decades of fishing experience – they are looking forward to putting you on fish!
The day will be spent on their newly built 36' boat with flybridge. This is a spacious and comfortable boat that is decked out with brand new safety gear and navigational features. The whole family will enjoy the ride out to the fishing grounds on board this boat. There's even a bed if the little ones need a nap.
Each trip offers something new! The combo trip is great for mixing fishing with snorkeling. The full-day trip is perfect for heading out and targeting big game. The captain is happy to take you fishing inshore for the full day, instead of heading offshore, if that's what you fancy.
Fishing with La Patrona Fishing Charters gives you the best chance to target Blue Marlin, White Marlin, Sailfish, Yellowfin Tuna, Mahi Mahi, Snapper, Grouper, and the Roosterfish – this is held in high regard in Costa Rica, and will give you a great fight!
There's no minimum age for kids on board and life vests are provided. They'll love the inshore trip in particular. Although lunch isn't served on this trip, there's not much time to eat anyway, as the action is fast paced! All the fishing gear and tackle are included in the price.
On the full day trips, a BBQ chicken and sides will be served on board, along with beer, soda, and water. You just need to bring along your sunscreen, sun hat, and swimsuit. Don't forget to wear light layers of clothing and deck shoes.

Nobody in the fleet caught fish that day, but that's fishing. Still a Pleasant experience, Boat has a large padded center console that is perfect for a nap.

The crew for this charter was exceptional. Everyone was so kind and hospitable. We caught fish, had fresh fruit served to us, went snorkeling with a guide and had an amazing lunch on the beach. A trip to always be remembered thanks to this crew!! Will definitely be booking with this captain again!!

Randall and Sarah Duran own a fleet of charter fishing boats as well as Private Charter Catamarans in the Jaco and Los Suenos area of Costa Rica. Randall has over 20 years of experience fishing and managing a fishing charter. Sarah works in the office completing reservations and all client requests. If you have any questions about your charter, or Costa Rica vacation planning, we are always here for advice. Our Captain onboard La Patrona is Jose, with over 30 years of local experience, Jose is one of the best Big Game captains in the area. He started fishing at just 8 years old with his dad on this pacific coast. Our team on board is 1st Mate Tony and 2nd Mate Michael, both experienced anglers that live and breathe fishing.

You can cancel or modify your booking up to 7 days before the trip date, free of charge. If you cancel or modify your booking later, or fail to show up, you'll forfeit 100% of what you've paid.
