Led by Captain Jorge, an experienced local fishing captain and inshore specialist, Whisper is an excellent choice for anglers looking to target one of Costa Rica's most iconic gamefish — the Roosterfish.
Inshore, we target Roosterfish, Cubera Snapper, Grouper, Snapper, Jack Crevalle, Amberjack and other powerful coastal species. Whisper's open-bow design provides plenty of room for active fishing with live bait, poppers, jigs and spinning tackle.
For anglers looking to head offshore, Whisper also offers full-day trips targeting Pacific Sailfish, Yellowfin Tuna, Mahi-Mahi, Wahoo and Marlin. Captain Jorge adapts the strategy according to target species, bait, currents and current fishing conditions.
Whisper is powered by twin 150 HP Yamaha engines and equipped with Garmin electronics, GPS, fishfinder, radar, outriggers, live bait well, ice box and an electric toilet. The boat accommodates up to 5 guests, while the base charter price includes up to 4.

FULL DAY OFFSHORE ADVENTURE on June 7, 2024 • 4 adultsMe and three friends went out with George and Edger. Fishing started slow with small tuna hits but it was nice to see the rods bending. Decided to try a new spot further out. Ride was beautiful. Spotted some birds and dolphins and got back in the water. We got a nice tuna and saw a few other big guys jumping. Fished for a few hours with no additional luck and then headed back in to try again closer to shore. What a great decision. We linked up on a Sail and a Mahi and had a wahoo break off. Funny story- when the team reached out for what we were targeting I said tuna, sail and Mahi! Boy did they come through. The food provided was amazing. Drinks and snacks were perfect. Boat ran good. Center console so please understand they may be spots with no shade and if it is a little rough you will feel it. Part of fishing. Couldn’t have asked for a better trip. 100% recommend booking with them. Very accommodating.

Excellent Day On The Water

They had every Tying we needed. We snacks, drinks and an excellent lunch provided. We will definitely be back on this boat again soon.

Meet Our Fishing Crew La Patrona is operated by a professional Costa Rican fishing crew with extensive experience on the waters of Costa Rica’s Central Pacific. Captain Adrian has more than 20 years of fishing experience in the waters around Jaco, Herradura, and Los Sueños. He is an offshore fishing specialist and tournament angler who has participated in major fishing tournaments in Costa Rica. His local knowledge and understanding of fishing conditions help him adapt the strategy according to what is happening on the water. Mate Lizandro has been fishing the waters of Costa Rica his entire life. He has experience fishing on tournament sailfish teams in Los Sueños and is skilled in fly fishing and dead bait fishing. Lizandro has caught hundreds of marlin, including several weighing over 500 pounds. His experience handling big fish and attention to detail make him an important part of the crew. Together, Adrian and Lizandro bring local knowledge, tournament experience, technical fishing skills, and a genuine passion for sport fishing to every La Patrona charter.

You can cancel or modify your booking up to 3 days before the trip date, free of charge. If you cancel or modify your booking later, or fail to show up, you'll forfeit 100% of what you've paid.

When the captain confirms your trip, FishingBooker charges your credit card a 30% deposit to guarantee your reservation.
The remaining balance is to be paid directly to the charter operator on or prior to your trip date in one of the following payment methods:
