Tauranga Marine Charters - Manutere offers fishing trips in the scenic Bay of Plenty. Experienced crew, solid catch, and a comfortable boat is what you’re getting when you come along. If you’ve been wanting to try getting Snapper, Trevally, John Dory, and other reef inhabiting fish, book your spot!
Tauranga Marine Charters is the brainchild of Captain Brett Keller. A seasoned angler himself, Captain Brett has been fishing for over three decades. His vast experience will be of hand when taking on these feisty and tasty fish.
You will be fishing aboard Manutere, a 44’ custom made boat that can accommodate large groups. Up to 20 anglers can book a day trip, and parties of up to 10 can book some of the longer outings. The boat is rigged with navigational electronics, has a multimedia system, a toilet, and stores life jackets. You will also have at your disposal a first mate.
In terms of the fishing gear—bring your own, or rent it onboard. These are the prices based on the style and technique:
- $25.00 - Bottom Fishing Rod,
- $15.00 - Bait,
- $25.00 - Hapuka Fishing Rod,
- $25.00 - per Trace + $15.00 - Bait.
When packing for the trip, you will want to bring sunblock, a cap, sunnies, comfortable clothes, and footwear. You won’t need a fishing license.
So, what about styles and fishing grounds? The deep dwellers are mostly around the beautiful Tuhua (Mayor Island). Motiti island boasts a fine array of shallower waters and is superb for fishing the table fare species.
