Depending on the lake you can target Rainbow and Brown Trout by soft baits, spinning, trolling, jigging, or maybe something more specialised in this area. John also offers fly fishing depending on the time of year.
Young ones are welcome, so the whole family can come and unplug for the day! Children must wear life vests, so find out if the appropriate size is available on board. Snacks are permitted onboard — bring your favorites to keep their stamina going! Tea / Coffee and light refreshments available on all trips.
Your time begins aboard our 6m (19') Buccaneer 605 Cuddy cabin with space for 5 passengers. Named after a famous NZ trout fly fishing fly 'Hamills Killer' and has all the essentials for your comfort on the water. All gear will be provided.
If you need a fishing licence these can be supplied on board as we are Fish and Game licence agents and can be paid for on the day.
Don't forget to bring sunglasses and sunscreen (non-spray). If you'd like to bring other drinks, just ask. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, just be sure to avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles.

We had a great morning fishing, our captain John was very friendly and very knowledgeable. He took the time to teach my kids some of the tricks and we all caught a lot of fish! It was a lot of fun and we would definately book with John again. Thanks for a great trip!

My family went out with John for a day fishing to celebrate my birthday wekend and easter. John was an excellent guide - we caught so many fish. The morning was just perfect. John was so patient and a great teacher for my sons 10 and 11. I would love to to go back out agan with him.

Captain John is great with kids and knows the area very well. Because there's an algae bloom in Lake Rotorua, he recommended we go to Lake Okareka instead, which is a swimming lake with stunning views! Both kids and parents had a wonderful time and a good catch. He also helped us clean the fish at the end.

Took my dad and son on this trip. capt John really knows his trade inside out. Caught 5 kept 4 within 2.5hrs. Awesome day. I think my 8 yo son is addicted now

How cancellations work
You can cancel or modify your booking up to 3 days before the trip date, free of charge. If you cancel or modify your booking later, or fail to show up, you'll forfeit 100% of what you've paid.

Transfer to/from departure site may be available and included in price depending on your location and distance from the dock.
How you can pay
When the captain confirms your trip, FishingBooker charges your credit card a 10% deposit to guarantee your reservation.
The remaining balance is to be paid directly to the charter operator on or prior to your trip date in one of the following payment methods:
