If you never did ice fishing on a frozen sea, Galddoaivi Safaris has got just the trip for you! Atte Ikkala, your guide and fish whisperer, runs seasonal ice fishing expeditions on the Barents Sea during the winter, when the ice is thick, but there’s still plenty of fish to chase.
Norway is known for its Arctic winters, which create the perfect ice fishing conditions for avid ice anglers. In case you’re visiting Inari or Kirkenes and you’d like to test your lines in the local waters, Atte will pick you up and take you to the most productive grounds. He will organize everything for you, including food, drinks, and all the necessary tackle, so that you don’t have to lug around your own.
Atte can drive up to 5 people to the best fishing spots, which are 15 minutes away from the Kirkenes city center. After that, you will walk on the ice until you catch a glimpse of fish on the fishfinder, drill holes, and drop your line. Your guide knows just how bountiful these waters are, so he’s certain you will land anything from Lingcod and Pollock to occasional Yellow Perch and Northern Pike.
Don’t be put-off by the Norway winter, Atte has tents and heaters to keep you warm. More often than not, you will have fair (though cold) weather while fishing, and spending all the time outside will be enjoyable, as long as you dress in layers. Whatever you catch, your guide will clean and fillet for your convenience, so that you can come home with the fruits of your hard work.
Ice fishing aficionados will have the best time on the waters of Barents Sea with Galddoaivi Safaris. Embrace the wild side of ice fishing and experience Norway from a completely new perspective!
