Step aboard his 26' Penn-Yan center console. Her layout is designed with fishing in mind, allowing plenty of space for up to 6 guests – all of whom can fish at the same time! Originally built in 1991, she was restored in 2009 and so contains all the latest gear and technology. She boasts downriggers and outriggers, so you can widen your lines when trolling. While she also comes fitted with a toilet, so you'll never get caught short.
Your captain is an experienced fisherman and possesses all the equipment needed for a productive day on the water. Using the newest gear along with live bait and a range of artificial lures, you'll have the edge over your target fish throughout the day. Whether you're trolling, drift fishing or ice fishing, you can rest assured that you're in for a thrilling day reeling in plenty of delicious Salmon, Bass, and practicing your skills against some Trout.
You'll practice catch and release on the native Trout population, but the captain will clean and fillet anything else you catch, so you can head home with enough fish to fill the freezer. Bring your own cooler full of snacks and drinks to make the most of your time aboard. Our captain for the day was Captain Joe, and from start to finish, it was a fantastic experience. We caught plenty of lake trout, thanks to Joe’s expert knowledge of the lake and deep water fishing techniques. He knew exactly where to go, constantly adjusting our course to keep us in the action. It was clear that he not only knows the sport inside and out but also genuinely enjoys sharing it with others. Beyond fishing, we learned so much about the history of the lake, the ecosystem, and the techniques involved in deep lake fishing. Joe’s personality is a huge part of what made the trip so special—he’s warm, funny, and engaging, and he made sure everyone was having a blast, even during our brief rain delay (which honestly just added to the adventure!). Whether you're an experienced angler or brand new to fishing, we can’t recommend Justy Joe Charters highly enough. It's the perfect way to enjoy the beauty of Lake George and create lasting memories. We'll definitely be back!

We set out on a cold rainy day with Captain Steve, he was very welcoming shared a lot of stories/history of the area, and was ready to go when the fish started biting. It wasn’t the greatest day of fishing, but still an awesome time all around. We will definitely be back again, and I’m sure the other crews are great, but Steve went above and beyond to show us a great time on Lake George.
