La Pinta is run and operated by Captain Juan Acosta, a knowledgeable guide with over two decades of fishing experience. He knows the waters of Panama like the back of his hand and will gladly share his passion with you and your party.
You can customize the trip to meet your specific needs. Check the bite close to shore or venture out for the likes of Marlin. The bite heats off in December and goes through May, even though you can catch Marlin year-round. If Yellowfin Tuna is at the top of the list, then the spring months are the best time.
Sailfish and Mahi Mahi can be caught throughout the year, while the Wahoo season starts the last week of July. If Wahoo, Yellowfin Tuna, Black Marlin, Sailfish, Mahi Mahi, and Striped Marlin are not your main priority, you can try your hand at Cubera Snapper fishing.
Whichever trip you decide to go for, rest assured that Capt. Juan will work hard to put you on fish. You will go out on a 26’ Caribe boat, which is a spacious vessel with twin 140 HP Suzuki outboards. The boat is fully outfitted with tuna tubes, a livewell, outriggers, and modern navigational electronics to save you time while you’re searching for a big one.
The trips with La Pina are all-inclusive. All you have to do is show up!
