Flyfishingwhistlerbc is calling all fanatic fly anglers to explore some of the most productive waters in British Columbia. Explore the Squamish River valley and its stunning nature, be it on foot or on a raft and practice your fly-fishing skills against some exceptionally strong fish.
Let Captain Alex Macleod guide you to the remote, idyllic fishing spots. A 3rd generation outdoor guide, he's been fly fishing all over Canada since childhood. He regularly competes and wins tournaments, and hopes to pass on his skill and expertise to the next generation.
You'll have the option to travel the river by foot or head down it aboard a 14' Aire drift boat. Capt. Alex will row you to the productive fishing spots, covering up to 14 km of water. You'll stay more local to the meeting point if on foot, but you'll get to wade fish for a true hands-on experience.
Marvel at the incredible nature all around you as the river cuts through the towering mountains. Overwhelming greenery and a range of wildlife will surround you as you get back to basics and appreciate the beauty of the world and life itself. Elks, bears, and even wolves, are just some of the creatures that inhabit this little slice of paradise, so keep an eye out for a once-in-a-lifetime sight.
When it comes to the fishing, you'll be going after some tough-fighting species. Bring your A-game to entice the bite of a range of Salmon and Steelheads. Prized catches all around the world, you'll be able to take your catch home during July and August, and the captain will even clean and fillet it for you.
All trips include the possibility of a free lunch – just get in touch with your captain to confirm. Capt. Alex will even pick you up within a 60-mile radius of the pickup spot, so there's almost nothing you need to do. Come and explore this fishing oasis with Flyfishingwhistlerbc, and you won't regret it.

Having fished with his father since he can remember, at the age of 12, Capt. Alex took up fly fishing on his Grandfather's bamboo rod. His passion grew and grew and went on to join the rest of the family in becoming a 3rd-generation outdoor guide. He's competed in and won plenty of east coast fly-fishing competitions, and is keen to pass on his passion, skills, and knowledge to each and every visitor to this peaceful corner of Canada.
