Johnny's Sport Fishing
If you’ve never fished Fraser River, then you’re missing out on a spectacular experience, but don’t worry, Johnny’s Sport Fishing can help make it right! With Captain John Waring to take you to the best fishing grounds around Chilliwack, you’re in for a great day on the water.
To begin your trip, you will come aboard a 22’ jet boat, with enough space to accommodate up to 5 anglers. You will get to the bite in no time thanks to the 400 HP Chevy engine, and then you have the rest of the trip to focus on fishing. Capt. John will use quality navigational electronics to find fish hideouts and then it’s up to you to cast your line and wait for the bite. Chances are, you won’t wait too long.
Your primary prey on the Fraser River will be White Sturgeon, which happens to be the largest freshwater fish on the continent. Fighting these acrobats is not for the faint-hearted and it requires patience and strength. Your guide will be with you every step of the way until you land your trophy catch, snap a few awesome photos, and release it.
If you prefer going after Salmon, there are several species you can target in the river, but the most frequent catch are Chinook and Coho Salmon. Depending on the time of the year, they can come in impressive sizes. Casting and fishing with jigs are the most productive techniques. Bear in mind that, in certain times of the year, all Salmon species are strictly catch-and-release.
Capt. John will provide all the fishing equipment you need, including Penn and Shimano rods and reels, as well as Accurate reels for Sturgeon fishing. If you’re a fly angler, your guide can bring the fly fishing gear, as well. Before you start your trip, you should buy a fishing licence and stock up on food and drinks.
Johnny’s Sport Fishing has been in business for two decades and that speaks volumes of the quality of their service. Turn to Capt. John when you’re ready for a thrilling and successful day on the Fraser River!
