During this 5-day adventure, you will visit various exotic fishing locations. You will be using aluminum boats for the larger river areas and inflatable boats for the rapids, while some fishing can be conducted from the river banks. Experienced guides will be by your side in case you need any assistance.
The main targets on these trips will be Tigerfish, Vundu (Catfish), and Rhino fish – all of which need to be released to ensure a healthy population. Most of the fishing is done on the fly, but conventional fishing is also available. The crew has rods and reels in the camps, but the captain recommends bringing your own equipment.
How do you get there? Once you land in Julius Nyerere International Airport in Dar el Salaam, you can schedule a transfer to the reserve. Charter flights are the preferred means of transport due to the condition of the roads. Note that your package covers the transport only inside the reserve, so you will need to cover the transport from the airport.
All meals and drinks inside the reserve are included. There is no minimum age policy for kids and the staff can look after them in the camp if they don't want to go fishing.
Besides fishing, you can also spend your time driving around the reserve and sightseeing. You can see a lot of lions, elephants, hyenas, leopards, and other wild animals in their natural habitat.
