Once you arrive at the Julius Nyerere International Airport in Dar es Salaam, you need to request a transfer to the reserve. You can go by car but charter flights are usually a better option, due to the condition of the roads and time-saving. Note that your trip price covers all rides only inside the reserve and you will need to cover the price for airport transfers.

Now, the purpose of your trip – fishing. You will visit many different fishing localities and try out different approaches, such as fishing from the aluminum boats on wider river areas, inflatable boats for the rapids, and fishing from the river banks. You will be accompanied by experienced guides to assist when needed.

Your main targets will be Tigerfish, Vundu (Catfish), and Rhinofish. Most of them are catch and release only for the preservation of species. You can go fishing every day but you can also spend some time driving around the reserve. Selous reserve has many wild animals in their natural habitats, such as buffalos, crocs, some elephants, lions, hyenas, leopards, and many more.
