Captain Richard Huggins is a lifelong fishing fanatic, and the man behind Xtreme Outfitters. He decided to set up his own outfitter company after taking part in land-based fishing tournaments, hooking Redfish and Shark species. As well as gaining plenty of skills and knowledge about shoreline fishing, he saw first-hand how accessible it is. This is something he now offers with his own trips, which are suitable for anglers of all ages and abilities.
Capt. Richard is able to take groups of up to 6 guests with him, making his shoreline adventure the perfect choice for an incredible family day out. If you're an experienced fisherman, it's a great opportunity to test your skills against your best angling buddies, as well as earning some bragging rights!
Depending on when you visit, the species you'll be targeting will differ, but Jekyll Island offers fantastic year-round angling opportunities. Capt. Richard will show you how to use a variety of tackle and spinning reels to hook anything from Snook, to Redfish, to Mackerel species, as well as plenty of other world-famous fish.
If you want to make your trip even more unique, why not opt for a special Shark adventure? Capt. Richard will help you use heavy gear to cast off for a variety of these notorious sea creatures, including Tope and Hammerhead Shark. Make sure you bring a camera with you, as all Shark are catch, tag, and release.

I am a somewhat inexperienced surf fisherman with no equipment post divorce. Somehow she got the fishing stuff too. Anyway, I needed some assistance to make this happen, and Richard pulled thru. He showed up a few minutes ahead of time and was right where he said he would be. He promptly had the lines out with heavy and medium heavy gear. Shrimp, squid, cut bait. He had it all. He did a great job of keeping my 11 yr old going the whole time. We had three rods going, so there was plenty to do. My son caught his first hammerhead shark and first cownose ray. We also caught some whiting. Richard taught us both a lot about surf fishing and what to look for. It was a great time. Worth every penny we spent. I highly recommend this outing.

The experience was absolutely amazing. We fished for small sharks from the shore and caught several! We really wished we could have caught a bigger shark but thata fishing. We did everything right and the big fish just weren't there, nothing anyone can do about that. But truly, it was so much fun. Me and my family definitely cant complain about catching small shark. So much fun. Not too big to where anyone was real worried and not too small to where the catches didnt matter. This charter was perfect for all ages in our group. From 10yrs old - 25+ yrs old. Everyone caught a shark and everyone had a really great time. Thank you Captain Huggins!!!!

He runs Xtreme Off The Beach Charters, which introduce anglers to fishing from a whole new perspective – rather than heading out on a boat, all adventures take place from various shorelines all over Florida and Georgia. Capt. Richard's charter started out as a land-based fishing team that participated in different Red Drum and Shark tournaments off the beach. He saw how popular this type of fishing was, not just with hardcore fishermen, but also with families and budding anglers. Now, he works alongside 9 other guides to provide incredible, unique adventures across two states – and even better, they're suitable for the whole family! Anglers of all ages and skill levels are warmly welcomed to try out this incredible style of fishing.
