Aloha Anglers! Ke Nui Charters invites you to fish aboard the "Hula." We are new to Fishing Booker, but have almost 40 years experience fishing the beautiful rich blue waters of the North Shore.
Once you hit the deck, we’ll be heading offshore to the fishing grounds. Time of year and conditions permitting, we’ll usually stop to catch live bait on the way. Depending on the species you are after, a typical day is spent trolling 5 to 7 lines searching for birds, marine debris and current lines. When we find something, it’s time to slow troll the live bait. Calm conditions also offer some great fun bottom fishing closer to shore.
If fishing a legendary boat is on your bucket list… Let’s go! The Merrritt 46’ has the reputation as one of the finest sportfishing boats ever made and this one gets the job done. "Hula" carries up to 6 guests. She has 3 outriggers, a fighting chair, a live bait tank, and of course all the finest rods, reels and tackle. The boat is set up with all the essentials needed for safety, comfort and convenience. A/C, refrigerators, freezers, full size toilet, and comfortable seating up on the flybridge and down in the salon and cockpit.
Leaving out of Haleiwa harbor, the North Shore has probably the best deep-sea fishing on Oahu. With mile deep water just a few miles out, local species include Mahi Mahi, Au (Blue, Black and Striped Marlin), Ahi (Yellowfin Tuna), Spearfish, Aku (Skipjack tuna), Ono (Wahoo), and more with any luck. The catch will be shared giving you plenty to take with you for dinner, cleaned and bagged.
You can’t go wrong when you bring a good attitude, snacks, bottled water, sunscreen (non-spray), and sunglasses. Alcohol is allowed in moderation., just be sure to avoid glass bottles. Children are welcome, so feel free to make a family day of it!
The "Hula" crew is ready to chase the bite and give you the adventure of a lifetime in Hawaiian waters. Tight lines and Hana Pa’a
