Whether you're a first-time angler, a veteran, or you want to get your children hooked – Redemption Charters is the place for you. Based out of Olcott, NY, you'll head out to Lake Ontario for some pulse-racing fishing, tailored to your desires.
A retired firefighter and paramedic, Captain Anthony Ellis now spends his days teaching children how to fish and running excursions onto the lake. He's been passionate about fishing since he was 5 years old and has passed on his love for fishing to his son, now working with him as the first mate. He hopes to be as successful with each and every customer.
Head out aboard a 35ft Viking flybridge fishing boat. Light and spacious, she's ideal for getting you and up to 6 others out to the fishing grounds. Powered by a twin 454 HP engines, you'll whizz off, wasting no fishing time at all. The downriggers and outriggers will be set up, so you'll troll behind you, using dead bait to lure the bite of your target fish.
Famed for its Salmon fishing, it's only natural that Capt. Anthony would target King Salmon on this Great Lake. Tough-fighting and delicious in taste, they'll keep you entertained throughout your time aboard, and will give you a well-earned reward at the end of the day. Sit back and wait for the reels to screech before you spring into action and head into battle with these beasts.
You'll also have the chance to try your hand at bottom fishing. Hit the shallower spots and you may reel in some tasty Trout or Steelhead. Not quite as thrilling as the Salmon, these beauties will also do anything to get off the end of your line, so you'd better be prepared for a serious workout.
At the end of the trip, the crew will clean and fillet your catch for you to take home to enjoy right away. All you need to do is bring an adequate cooler to take it home, and you're good to go. My girlfriend and I went fishing with Captain Anthony and deck boss Calvin on Redemption Charters and had a phenomenonal fishing trip. The meeting location is easy to find with a local gas station/convenience store where you can buy ice, snacks or drinks. There is plenty of free parking and the marina is in a clean, safe location. The boat is beautiful and all of the equipment on board is top notch. When we arrived, they were ready to go and we even left the slip early. We took a short, comfortable ride to the fishing grounds and started trolling. Captain Anthony explained the reasoning behind the area that he decided to start fishing which made all of the sense in the world. The fish had other ideas, as they decided to go shallow which made no sense. Even with challenging conditions to start, Captain Anthony refused to give up and his relentless pursuit of fish paid off. The Captain worked tirelessly, tried using bait, different colors lures, fished different depths. He covered a ton of ground and when he tried the shallow water, the bite was on. We caught as many fish as we wanted to take to eat which consisted of King Salmon and Rainbow Trout. Calvin (mate) is a hardworking young man that is wise beyond his years that really knows how to fish. This father and son team worked together tremendously and were able to read each other's minds. There was even a little good luck charm named Remington (dog) on board who was so well behaved and I think helped bring us some fish. My girlfriend and I had a tremendous time and caught plenty of fish and had a great day on the water with truly nice people. Regardless of your skill level, I would highly recommend Redemption Charters if you are fishing in the Olcott, NY area.
My family and I limited out on S teelhead and Salmon thanks Captain Anthony and his Fort Mate. Wonderful boat with sweet fish finder has us on fish whole time. thank you guys so much.

first time going but it was alot of fun and captain and mate were so friendly and knowledgeable and whole experience was great for us and our 13 yr old boy! Will definitely be looking into to going again with them!

We went after Chinook Salmon and thet did not disappoint. Our captain new the right spots, tackle, and technique. It was an exciting 4 hour trip!
