Discover Florida flats fishing with a local pro aboard 'Flat Out Sportfishing'! Head out with Captain Diego Cordova, an expert at navigating the productive shallow waters in the Florida Keys backcountry. Whether you're fly fishing or spinning there's no more exciting place to test your sight fishing skills than here!

Your ride for the day is a powerful 24' Crevalle bay boat that can accommodate up to 4 anglers comfortably. Her wireless trolling motor is essential for sneaking up on those easily spooked shallow dwelling fish. If your targets prefer live bait it'll stay fresh in the live well, or you can choose from Capt. Diego's selection of lures.

Explore depths of up to 20' in search of Spanish Mackerel, Pompano, Bluefish, Snapper, and Cobia, before heading into extremely shallow waters. Here in the flats, the depth is only about 2' and you'll find there's plenty of Bonefish, Permit, small Sharks, and Tarpon to cast for!

All of the gear you need for a productive day spinning and fly fishing is provided. You're also free to bring your own gear, just consult with Capt. Diego beforehand. He'll also provide all of your licenses, bait, and a cooler with ice and bottled water. Any other refreshment you'd like to have you're free to bring along.

Let Capt. Diego know if you're staying at a local hotel or resort and he can arrange pick-up. Don't miss out on the opportunity to experience epic sight-fishing with Flat Out Sportfishing!

Captain Diego is the man
Half Day Trip (AM) on June 13, 20264 adults

Captain D picked us up dockside and had us on fish immediately after a short boat ride. My kids were reeling in snapper hand over fist and he put us on barracuda later in the morning. We capped off the trip at a gorgeous sand bar and he filleted enough snapper and barracuda for 2 meals for the whole family. I’d recommend Captain D to anyone, his knowledge is second to none and his boat is beautiful.

We had a blast with Diego! He was very friendly and knew where the fish were! We caught more than 6 species of fish in 4 hours time. We would definitely go out with Diego again!

Contact Captain Diego Directly!
Half Day Trip (AM) on April 21, 20241 adult

Had a great time on the water with Captain Diego! Our targeted fish weren’t biting but we still got fish in the boat. Captain Diego is very personable and was patient with my poor fly casting skills. Do not hesitate to contact Captain Diego directly, you will not regret it!

I come from a long line of commercial fishermen from the North coast of Cuba. I started commercial fishing as a young man as a crew member on board my father's commercial fishing vessel in 1978. I acquired my first commercial fishing vessel in 1982 and I've been a self-employed fisherman ever since. Having been in these waters since 1978 and gaining the knowledge required, I began my flats fishing charter business in 1988 and have fished the shallow waters from Long Key all the way to the Marquesas islands west of Key West and Florida Bay. Fishing is in my blood and I wanted to carry the traditions of my ancestors and be able to pass on this knowledge and conservation ethics to the coming generations in our family and with all of the clients that I meet.
