If you're ready to love fishing in Marathon, we've got you covered with 5th Generation Fishing. Having logged many hours on these tides, Captain Cole knows them forwards and back.

These waters are known for Amberjack, Mahi Mahi, Blackfin Tuna, Wahoo, Mutton Snapper, Mangrove Snapper, Yellowtail Snapper, King Mackerel (Kingfish), Blue Marlin, African Pompano Jack, and more – with any luck, you'll hook into a few!

You'll target your catch by spinning, popping, trolling, drifting, jigging, bottom fishing, or maybe something more specialized in this area. Capt. Cole can also help you try kite fishing. For the more adventurous among you, there's spearfishing and bowfishing.

If you're traveling with the family, you will be glad to know that kids are welcome aboard! Be sure to ask if child-sized life vests are available, otherwise you should bring your own. Snacks are never a bad idea so that nobody gets cranky on an empty stomach!

Your boat for the day is a 29' SeaVee center console that holds up to 6 passengers. It has outriggers, downriggers, and all the essentials no fishing machine can run without. Rods, reels, and tackle are covered by the charter, along with lures. Live bait is included, but it's good to ask about this so you know if you'll be catching it yourself.

A First Mate will be there to make sure everything is running smoothly. It's customary to tip the Mate 10–20% to show your appreciation.

The charter boat covers your fishing license, just show up ready for some fishing! Keep in mind that some fish may have harvest limits or closed seasons. If you don't know what to expect, ask the captain.

Don't forget to bring sunglasses, bottled water, and sunblock (non-spray). Drinks will be available for you. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, but you should avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles.

5th Generation Fishing will make it easy for you to go fishing in Marathon. So, how about booking that trip?

Full day with capt cole
Full Day Trip on April 6, 2026

We had the best time fishing with capt Cole and mate drake! The boat was great and reliable and they are both very knowledgeable about what they do! We did a full day on the Atlantic and caught mahi, tuna and ended the day hooking a sailfish! Overall a 10/10 experience and would recommend this charter to anyone that wants to catch a lot of fish and have a great time! We will definitely be a returning customer!

Exceptional Crew
3/4 Day Trip on July 12, 20256 adults

Cole was a phenomenal captain, driving the boat through rough seas with ease. We were always on fish wether it was in the reef or open water. Drake was always on top of the bait making sure we never had empty hooks and could spot birds from miles away. If you want a charter that'll treat you right and keep you hooked up these guys are the ones to do it!

10/10 recommend! Was worried when booking because there was only 1 review prior, but this was definitely a 5 star trip! Cole and Drake were awesome! Both VERY knowledgeable. We caught a LOT of dolphin. I think we came short of the limit but only because we wanted to go chase some tuna. We could’ve easily hit it. Everyone was very pleased with this trip, even with the waves being 3-5ft. Capt Cole handled it very well. Will definitely be coming back in the future!
