Captain Richard Phippin has been fishing in the area since he was a teenager and started this charter as a family business. His trips are available year-round and he'll always follow the fish to give you the best possible chance for a successful day on the water.
Your journey starts on a 25' Maycraft pilothouse. She's powered by a 300 HP Suzuki engine and accommodates up to 4 guests. The boat has an enclosed hardtop cabin that provides seating and protection from the weather. She also features canvas enclosures to secure you from cold and windy days. There's also a private porta potty in the cabin.
Every season has something different to offer! We fish year round for Striped Bass (Rockfish) and White Perch. In the Spring and Summer we also fish for Speckled Trout, Redfish, Bluefish and Spanish Mackerel. These species are fast and they like to chase the bait. Light tackle and jigging are great if you encounter big schools of fish and for this, you'll mainly use lures. You can also catch Flounder, Trout, and Silver Perch.
Capt. Richie trailers his boat to be close to the fishing grounds for your trip and give you a longer time to. The area offers plenty of public access points to start your trip from. Once a trip is booked we will message you with an exact location to meet.
The crew provides all rods, reels, tackle, and fishing licenses. You can bring your snacks and drinks for the day and make sure to have warm jackets and rainwear with you. Capt. Richie prefers to catch and release but he will clean your catch if you wish to keep it.

WALK ON TRIP on August 15, 2026 • 1 adultWe spent the day trolling targeting Spanish Mackerel and Bluefish. Although we weren’t successful with the Spanish Mackerel, we did catch 12 nice size Bluefish. Captain Richie was very friendly throughout the entire trip and did everything he could to provide us with a successful trip including rigging the poles, handling the catch and even filleting them at the end. Great experience from start to finish and will book this charter again the next time I’m in the area

We were not experienced anglers and so it was great that we and we were very well looked after during our trip. It was a windy day and the Capt re-arranged the location a day in advance to a more sheltered location to make the trip as an enjoyable as possible. Thanks also for staying back at the end to make sure that our taxi arrived, we greatly appreciated this.

He was communicative about possible weather challenges for our original date, and rescheduled us for a perfect Saturday afternoon trip in Eastern Bay. He was very friendly and his boat was clean and accommodating (bathroom and protection from the weather). We only caught one but that was at no fault of the captain. fun ride good times nice views and a captain with good vibes. would definitely go back out with Nauti Hookers again lol

Captain Richard grew up around anglers and started fishing himself when he was a teenager. He loved it and he has been doing it ever since. The captain tries to do whatever is the best method for the time of year and the fish he is pursuing. His absolute favorite is casting to breakers and jigging in the fall. Captain Richard occasionally participates in 'catch and release' fishing tournaments. His biggest catch so far is 43" Rockfish.
