The bountiful waters of St. Thomas are the playground of Blue Marlin and White Marlin, which makes them the perfect place to land your next trophy. The best time to go after these prestigious fish is from April to October. You can also hook various Tuna species here, along with Mahi Mahi and Wahoo.
Bear in mind that Billfish are strictly catch and release, and everything else you catch, you'll share with the crew. The captain and his first mate will clean and fillet the fish for your convenience.
'The Abigail III' is a 44' aluminum sport fisher and she'll be your ride for the day. The boat is outfitted with twin 870 HP Caterpillar engines and has plenty of room for up to 6 anglers to fish at the same time. Capt. Red will provide top-of-the-line Penn International tackle, lures, and fishing licenses for everyone.
With a private toilet and an air-conditioned cabin, the vessel is perfectly suited for longer fishing jaunts. You will have a competent first mate by your side, so if you need any help, don't hesitate to ask. For all his hard work, 10–20% tips are much appreciated.
If you need pickup from St. John Island, the captain can arrange it for an additional charge ($50). The only thing you should think about before the trip is packing enough food for your day on the boat. Sunscreen and hats are also a good idea.

Blue Marlin Trip on September 8, 2023 • 4 adultsI cannot praise Capt Red and 1st Lieut Donovan enough for their outstanding effort in helping me to reel in and take photos of a Blue Marlin. After 6+ hours of no bites, Capt Red’s obvious knowledge of the waters paid off with several hits. The first two jumped the line, but the third hit was a dream come true. With their coaching and after a 90-minute tug of war, I was able to reel in an 132 inch, 400 lb monster of a Blue Marlin. Best fishing experience I have ever had (60 years worth). I could not have crossed this off my bucket list without this crew. You have to be crazy not to take a trip with them. Boy, do my arms still ache!

Half Day Trip (AM) on May 15, 2021 • 4 adultsCaptain Red and KJ were great! They explained where we were going via GPS unit, provided history of the islands, and gave us a wonderful experience! KJ managed the lines and was frequently tending to them to make sure we had some fish to go home with. The chop was a little rough in some spots so if you are prone to sea sickness be weary. The boat has an on board restroom, sink and cooler. They provide you with water and Coors light or similar. We went in the morning and it was nice to still have the rest of the day to ourselves as we got back in about noon. The black fin tuna was enough for lunch, dinner and more for 4 people. Captain red cleaned the fish for us and gave us a bag to carry it in. You also have the option of selling your fish on the dock or giving it to the crew. I highly recommend this fishing excursion if you are looking for an experience with a local that is very laid back. We also brought a portable speaker with us and we’re allowed to play our own music.

We had a great fishing trip with Captain Red and Donovan on the afternoon of December 22nd! We sailed North from Sapphire Harbor and began fishing North of the Virgin Islands. We started catching fish after about 90 min. By the time that we returned to port, we had caught 2 Barracudas, 2 Bonitos, and a King Mackerel! That evening, we had delicious fish tacos for dinner! We will definitely fish with Captain Red again the next time that we are in St. Thomas! Thank you Captain Red and Donovan!
