Bahia Rica Adventures – Mono Congo 

Amazing! We took the half day AM fishing tour and Chato and Stephan exceeded our expectations! We caught a total of over 12 fish in the short period of time from red snapper, to pompano, to mackerel and more, ending with the highlight of a rooster fish that took 20-30 minutes to bring in. Chato and Stephan knew where to go and utilized their technology. Chato is a local and has over 30 years of experience. He frequently kept us informed and considered our objectives. As always, had a great fishing trip/time with Captain Thomas and Cato. I only caught two Jacks but one of them was over 35 pounds and took 25 minutes to bring in. Missed four or five from losing bait or missing the poppers/jigs. Alot of action and minimal boat travel to fishing locations. This was my second time with this captain and first mate and there will be a third one in the future.

My son (19yo) and I love to fish and have used fishing booker with varied results in the past. Thomas and his mate were experienced, friendly, professional - and most importlantly put us on the fish. Our second fish was a 35-40lb rooster. we caught 30+ fish of varied species. The scenery is stunning, beautiful water, good food, and a comfortable boat. I highly recommend this charter.

We recently spent the day fishing with Chato and Pollito and had a great time. We went with the intention of catching Rooster. Fishing was a but slow but the crew was determined to make it happen and they absolutely did!

Awesome fishing, very accommodating guide and crew, great vibes. Totally recommend fishing with Thomas. Check out the other services he and his wife offer (tours, kayaking, guest house, etc) and stay in the area for a few days if possible. Our initial schedule didn’t work out due to some boat issues, that evening Thomas rescheduled us for two days later to make sure we got out before our trip to Costa Rica was over. On the day, he was very accommodating for one of our group who had extreme sea sickness, and dropped him off with his tour group so the rest could keep fishing. Caught a few sharks, some good baitfish, and tons of Jack Crevalle. Assistant guide & captain Chato kept us in the zone and brought the good vibes all day. Would highly recommend Bahia Rica for fishing as well as the other tours he and his wife offer. Very friendly group and a beautiful setting.

We had an amazing day out on the water with this charter! From start to finish, everything was top-notch. We caught a ton of fish - including six different species - and even caught a 200 lb blacktip shark, which made for an unforgettable moment. The captain and first mate were fantastic - super knowledgeable, friendly, and clearly passionate about what they do. Their hospitality really stood out. They kept the energy high, made everyone feel welcome, and had everything covered: cold drinks, a delicious lunch, and fresh fruit throughout the trip. It was one of the best fishing experiences I’ve ever had. Can’t recommend them highly enough - we’ll definitely be back!

Captain Thomas and Chato provided a great fishing day. There was never less than three lines in the water and we were doing lures at the same time trolling. Almost landed two roosters. Landed all kinds of jacks and hooked a massive 14 pound needle fish was completely out the water when it threw the hook loose. Both guys were extremely knowledgeable and worked the whole 9-10 hours we were out there. My wife was supposed to be with us so she got seasick and we because we’re so close to the fishing grounds, we literally carried her back and was back on the fish before the first tide change. Had a great trip and if I’m in this area again, I will definitely be going with Captain Thomas., Chato and Bahia Rica Adventures - Mono Congo! You can’t go wrong!

Thomas and his crew were spot on. They knew we wanted to catch roosters and we tried hard for them. We weren’t having luck early on so Thomas suggested we try a few other fishing methods. We fished poppers, jigging, and even bottom fishing. We finally caught a rooster while jigging and it was EPIC. Throughout the day we caught jacks, snapper, mackerel, tuna, roosterfish, and even a stingray. My wife and I truly had an amazing time with Thomas and his crew and we want to come back to Costa Rica just to fish with them again! They were incredible friendly, engaging and very knowledgeable on the area. They are exactly what you want in the crew of your fishing charter. If you’re deciding who you want to fish with in Costa Rica, these are the guys. Pura Vida 🤙🏼

Captain Thomas and Christian were phenomenal! Very knowledgeable and when plans A, B and C didn’t quite produce, we didn’t give up and caught 3 huge roosters, one world class 70 plus pounds! I will definitely be back and highly recommend this adventure to anyone in search of a bucket list rooster fish or big snapper! 100% pay for the full day, we were on fish all day, but we didn’t land any roosters until after lunch. We had planned on a day of rooster fishing. The captain sent a message the day before saying the bite offshore was a much better bet. We took his word for it and were on our first sailfish within 20 minutes of lines in the water! My son and nephew each landed their first sailfish! Plenty of water and shade were on the boat. When the bite died we changed tactics and found fish again! Yellowfin tuna filets graced more than one table tonight due to the effort of a very friendly and helpful captain and crew.
