The Mohaka is a spectacular location and one of the finest wilderness river systems in New Zealand. This is also the home to Rainbow and Brown Trout which can reach up to 10 pounds or more!
Each trip is tailor-made to provide the best possible experience for everyone. You can try your hand at both spin and fly fishing and your guide will provide all the angling equipment you need.
There's a variety of trips to choose from – from half day and full day excursions to multi-day expeditions. If you're sticking around for several days, you can pick whether you'd like to camp right by the river or enjoy the comfort of Capt. Deon's bed and breakfast. Food, drinks, and camping equipment are provided on every trip.
You will be fishing out of a 15' commercial raft that has room for up to 4 people per raft. Because rafting is a big part of your trip, you'll have oars to help you propel you through the rapids. Capt. Deon will have life jackets for everyone on board. Safety is his number one priority!
As you can see, this is an all-inclusive offer and Capt. Deon will be on hand throughout the journey. He makes it his mission to share interesting stories and fishing tips on how to land a big one. It was amazing day trip on the beautiful Mohaka River. We rafted 21 km along the picturesque gorge. Experienced captain Deon shown us many river pools where we stopped for fishing. A few rainbow and brown trout was taken during the day. Thank you captain Deon.

Free cancellation up to 7 days prior to trip
You can cancel or modify your booking up to 7 days before the trip date, free of charge. If you cancel or modify your booking later, or fail to show up, you'll forfeit 100% of what you've paid.

Transfer to/from departure site may be available and included in price depending on your location and distance from the dock.

Book with 10% deposit, pay rest to captain
When the captain confirms your trip, FishingBooker charges your credit card a 10% deposit to guarantee your reservation.
The remaining balance is to be paid directly to the charter operator on or prior to your trip date in one of the following payment methods:
