Last Cast Charters will put you front and center against some of the biggest names in inshore sportfishing. Your guide for the day will be either Captain Blake Nelson, a Cobia and Redfish tournament world champion, or Captain Tanner Howell, an experienced local who's been running the boat together with Capt. Blake for the past four years.
The captain's vessel is a 24' Skeeter Bay Boat, powered by a 300 HP Yamaha engine so you can reach the fishing grounds in just 10 minutes. She comes with a wireless trolling motor, live bait tank, GPS, and fishfinder. In addition, there's a tower above the center console so you can sit back and enjoy the beautiful view of the coastline.
Your main target species are Redfish, Flounder, Mangrove Snapper, Black Drum, Spanish Mackerel, Speckled Trout, and many more. Destin's inshore waters are a breeding ground for many species, so you'll have plenty of opportunities to leave with a nice fish that you can cook up for dinner.
Last Cast Charters is a family-run business, so Capt. Blake invites children of all ages to join in on the fun. He strives to make each trip a memorable and fulfilling experience for everyone and loves having families on board. He's a patient, knowledgable, and entertaining guide, which is why people love coming back to his boat for more fishing!
Each customer will be provided with state-of-the-art rods and reels by Shimano and Penn. Your fishing license is also covered and Capt. Blake will offer to clean and fillet your catch free of charge. Just come down to the dock 10 minutes before departure to get set up, and feel free to bring some snacks and drinks as well.

We went as a family of 4 (2 older teens), it's hard to get them to enjoy much with us now they are older. They both had an awesome time and so did Dad! As the mom, I loved it as my first time salt water fishing! We all caught probably around 7 or more trout and a few other fish that we couldn't keep. The guide Justin was very attentive to us and would help when needed but also let us bait/cast and do as much as we wanted(which I like) He was laid back, friendly, and helpful. The guide made this a fun, peaceful fishing trip! We had the fish cooked at Kennny Ds half fried and half blackened (I prefer) and it was so delicious! Thank you and I look forward to another trip soon!

Slot Redfish on the first cast. Caught fish consistently the entire trip. Tackle was great and well maintained. The boat was very capable, clean and comfortable. The power pole was excellent holding the boat in and around the grass beds. Having previously fished for red’s in Venice, Destin did not disappoint! Choctawhatchee Bay is loaded and Captain Mitchell put me on em. Great trip!

Our captain, Mitchell, provided my wife and myself an exceptional morning fishing trip. we gathered bait, he put us on fish (about 25), and at the end he filleted the fish we kept. The Henderson Resort(Primrose restaurant) prepared an outstanding grilled/blackened fish platter with several different sauces on the side. The real deal-hats off to Mitchell-he’s got a great personality, was a hard worker(we just caught fish!), and he’s a great asset for your charter company!

Tanner took great care of us and helped the kids a bunch when it came to casting and netting the fish. The wife caught a good sized redfish, the kids caught some trout and a stingray but of course we let the ray go. Tanner cleaned up the fish, cut it up and recommended us take the fish to Kenny D’s so they could blacken the redfish and fry the trout. The fish tasted great and overall we had a great experience. Will definitely go again when were back in Destin next summer.

We had 3 adults and 2 kids (6&8) and everyone had a blast. We caught a lot of redfish and both of my kids managed some great keepers that Tanner filleted for us at the end of the trip. After our fishing trip our youngest hasn’t stopped talking about the fishing trip and has even made sure every stranger along the way knew he caught a monster fish. Captain Tanner did great with the kids and we would fish with this charter/ Captain again.

In 2017, he became the world champion of the Destin Cobia Tournament after landing a 98.5 lb Cobia, the biggest one caught in 10 years. He decided to start his own charter service in 2008 because he loves meeting new people and sharing his passion with others.
