Explore a new, awe-inspiring fishery deep in the wilderness of New Zealand with Altitude Fly Fishing! Let a professional guide, Johnny Gummer, show you to the pristine waters of the Lower North Island, where the bite is strong and the scenery is nothing short of breathtaking.
Johnny has been fishing his whole life, discovering remote rivers and lakes that hide healthy-sized Trout species. Because these fisheries are away from the urban areas, not only are they untouched, but they offer some of the most majestic views you’ll ever see.
And a view of big Brown and Rainbow Trout on your line is definitely one to remember. Bear in mind that all the species are strictly catch and release.
Whether you choose to hike to the best fishing spots or fly by helicopter to the more remote areas, your guide will arrange it for you. If you’d like to get a taste of the prolific backcountry fishing, you can go deep into the wilderness on foot and camp under the unveiled stars.
Then, during the day, fish to your heart’s content and bask in the beauty of your surroundings. After your adventure, Johnny will drive you back to your accommodations.
You don’t have to bring your own equipment unless you really want to, Johnny will provide quality fly fishing gear (Scott, Florence, Simm’s). He will also take care of any camping equipment you might need, as well as food and drinks.
You can also rent waders and boots for an additional charge, in case you don’t have your own. The only thing you need to think about before going off is packing suitable clothing and buying a fishing license.
Join Altitude Fly Fishing and Johnny for a day (or several) of invigorating fly fishing action on the prolific waters of New Zealand’s North Island!
