Captain Pete's Fish Tales
Sign up with Captain Pete's Fish Tales if you're looking for an unforgettable angling adventure out of Chincoteague Island. Captain Pete Wallace has been fishing here for more than 25 years and knows these waters like the back of his hand. He welcomes anglers of all ages and skill levels and will do his best to show you what makes fishing around here so great.
His boat is a 24' Carolina Skiff that runs on a single 140 HP Suzuki engine and will get you to the fishing grounds in no time. It has a canopy top that will keep you in the shade and a seating area where you can catch your breath and relax. There's enough room on the boat for up to 6 anglers, so be sure to bring along the rest of the family for the trip.
Fishing for Sharks is Capt. Pete's specialty, but there are plenty of other species in the sea that you can find. These include Flounder, kingfish, Spanish mackerel, and plenty more. Most of the time you'll be bottom fishing, and drifting, but you're welcome to fly fish if you bring your own fly gear.
Conventional fishing gear and live bait caught during your trip are included in the price. Not only that, but your first mate will clean all your catch after the trip so you don't have to worry about it later. Come on down and create your own tale with Captain Pete's Fish Tales!

What an incredible fishing trip! In just four hours, we landed five big sharks ranging from about 4 to 6 feet long, along with smaller fish throughout the day. The action was nonstop, the weather was great, and the captain made the experience even better. It was an absolute blast from start to finish. If you're looking for an exciting fishing adventure, I highly recommend it. We can't wait to go again!

The off shore experience was incredible! Captain Andrew and first mate Jordan were wonderful. We were able to check crab traps, fish, go clamming, and find mussels. Captain Andrew also took special time to find dolphins for the kids to see! Jordan and Andrew were both AMAZING with the kids, while also making sure the adults had a good trip too. I cannot recommend this crew enough for a family day trip out on the water!
We had such a fun time! We caught several croakers and kingfish and even came close to catching a shark. The captains were great, friendly, and made the experience enjoyable for everyone. The kids had an absolute blast and loved every minute of it. It was a great family adventure, and we would definitely do it again!
Thank you for changing locations when I started feeling seasick. I didn't want to ruin the trip for my boys. My teenage son had the time of his life and has informed me that next time we come to Chincoteague we need to fish more. The smile and lack of snarky response after he caught that shark told me I did good booking this trip. THANK YOU!
My Marine Corps friends and I took this fishing trip back in 2019 and had a blast. This time in 2026 the kids were older and we took them with us and had even more fun! We went caught some crabs, then went fishing for flounder, then did some clam digging and picked up some muscles. We caught some skates and caught some flounder that was big enough to keep. We look forward to doing this trip again next time we come down. Highly recommend it!
