If you're looking for a deep sea adventure, Wearever Fishing Expeditions will show you why they should be your number 1 choice! Captain Roberto Navarro is known as the 'jigging pioneer' of Playa del Carmen. He studied the art of high-speed, slow-pitch, kabura, and inchiku jigging and brought these techniques to his hometown more than a decade ago. Since then, he's enjoyed running charters out of Puerto Aventuras and creating lasting memories with his customers!

Capt. Roberto invites you on his 27' Imemsa center console. She's outfitted with state-of-the-art electronics, including a Garmin GPS and Furuno chart-plotter in order to put you on top of your target as quickly and efficiently as possible. You'll also have a live bait tank, a cooler for food and drinks, an icebox for your catch, and top-of-the-line Shimano fishing tackle. The boat accommodates 5 guests and everyone can fish comfortably at the same time. Kids ages 5 and up are welcome aboard and they'll be given life jackets, as well.

Capt. Roberto holds the record for catching the second largest Swordfish in the state of Quintana Roo, weighing in over 630 pounds! You can expect to target lots of Swordfish, as well as Sailfish, Tuna, Amberjack, Kingfish, Barracuda, Wahoo, Snapper, and more! Capt. Roberto will show you different types of jigging and popping, and you'll be able to troll for pelagic species up to 6 miles from the shore.

Your fishing license is covered by the captain's boat so you can come straight to the dock ready to fish. Just arrive 15 minutes before departure, bring some sunscreen, a hat, and sunglasses and the rest will be taken care of. Capt. Roberto also provides beer, juice, soda, and water on all of his trips, including sandwiches and chips on full-day excursions.

Everything you need is provided, the only thing missing is you! So book your trip today and let Wearever Fishing Expeditions take you on the adventure of a lifetime!

best jigging trip you can book!
Half Day Trip on March 23, 20262 adults3 children
Roberto and his Mate are very knowledgeable and have the juggin game dialed in. Live bait is extremely difficult to come by in this area, that means trolling, or fishing lures or flies. If sitting and watching the boat motor around dragging lures bores you, jigging is an active way to fish and can be deadly. we booked a half day trip, knowing it would be windy in the afternoon in March. We had our kids 7,10,12 and my me and the wife. We had plenty of food and no good place to store fish, so we donated our catch to the crew. we released a nice almaco jack and a horseye jack and several smaller grouper. we kept a variety of nice grouper for captain and crew. We lost a couple bigger fish to sharks and getting rocked (when a jack heads straight down for cover in the rocks), as the bugger jacks are incredibly hard pullers. Great trip with a fantastic captain! the kids caught some great fish!

Fishing!
Half Day Trip on March 3, 20263 adults
We were late to the marina because of our taxi driver but once we got there, we got out on the water and started fishing right away. We didnt catch anything but its not a lack of trying as Roberto was working the whole time, changing out lines and lures, and doing everything he could to have us catch fish, he was knowledgeable about the different spots and he took us to great jigging spots. I hooked a barracuda, but obviously didnt get to fight him in too much before he frayed my line, our friend got 3 different bites and had one big one on but a shark came up and ate it while we were trying to fight them and unfortunately couldnt get it in the boat. All and all a fun day. plan to wear a hat, sunscreen and bring sandwiches. also jiggling isnt for the faint of heart, make sure you work out your arms! lol! otherwise, it was a blast.

3 shark day.
Half Day Trip on November 13, 20252 adults
We met up with Roberto and headed out. I have fished with him once before for three consecutive days and were on fish the whole time. Today was more work as we were jigging and caught three reef sharks. One took the whole tuna that was getting brought in. We didn't set out for catching them today but it was the way it worked out. Roberto and his crew member were very helpful on the jigging process and assisted as needed. His knowledge, experience and being a good steward of the waters makes the trip worth every penny.
