Join Team Dempsey Guide Service on an exclusive adventure around Hatteras Island! Captain Jake Dempsey is a former commercial fisherman and has won several local tournaments over the past years. He'll take you to some of the most prolific fishing grounds, from the Pamlico Sound to the Atlantic Ocean, and do everything he can to put you on fish!
You'll be fishing from a versatile 24' Carolina Skiff. The boat's fishing platform provides you with the flexibility to drift the shallow flats but also trek through nearshore waters off of Cape Hatteras. She comes with state-of-the-art Garmin electronics, a flybridge, jack plate, Power-Pole, shade top, and plenty of dry storage space. You and 3 other guests will be able to fish comfortably at the same time and kids 5 and older are welcome aboard.
You'll have the opportunity to fish the flats for Bull Reds or go all the way out to the famous Diamond Shoals to target Cobia. Other target species include Trout, Bluefish, Spanish Mackerel, Weakfish, and many more! You'll be provided with top-of-the-line rods and reels made by Penn, as well as live bait and lures, along with a fishing license for the day.
Capt. Jake also provides clamming trips, a fun local tradition and activity for families to enjoy together. You'll spend 2.5 hours looking for delicious Clams so that you can take them home for a savory meal. This is something that the kids really enjoy and is one of the most relaxing yet rewarding experiences!

Mr. Jake Dempsey was great, very personable which is so helpful and goes a long way in his business, my wife was a little nervous and Jake was very helpful explaining to her how to fight and land the bluefish we were catching, as you know are a great fighting. To tell you a little more or his character he noticed a boat stuck on sandbar, stop to successfully help. Jake was very knowledgeable of the area we fished, fishing was fantastic for my 14 year old son's first charter fishing trip, we could have caught blue fish all day, but Jake first tried to sight fish for shark and that was exciting just seeing them swimming around, back to more bluefish and what an incredible way to end the day by doubling up one Sandbar and once my son Cooper got it to th boat the second pole began to go and the fight was on with a very nice size Blacktip shark...it was a great fight and an amazing experience for my wife Debbie, myself but one I know and hope for a very long time if not his lifetime and amazing time and memory for my son Cooper...truly thankful to Mr. Jake Dempsey for this opportunity and just an over great fishing experience.
Jake was great. Caught a lot of red fish including 51 incher. Great day and one of rhe best guides I have ever had the pleasure of fishing with.

Captain Jake is my "go to" guide for fishing in the OBX. Every trip has been amazing and this was no different. We caught large sheep head to start the day, including TWO citation fish. Spent a little time looking for drum and then hit a school. With six on board it was fast and furious with two or three on at a time. Limited in 30 or 45 minutes and were back at the dock. As always Capt Jake was patient w the first time fishers and everyone had a great time! Everyone caught a couple great fish and had an awesome day. Cant wait til our next trip. If you want to have a great day call Team Dempsey!
I can’t say enough good things about captain Jake. He was patient with all of us who are learning about fishing he was absolutely wonderful with our kids and helped them catch many many fish we will definitely be using him again when we are out visiting. He is extremely knowledgeable and professional A++++++ we had the best day and memories were made.
Jake had us on blues immediately. After the we chose to chase cobia’s. We trolled mackerel’s while looking. Jake found us some and we brought in a 55” 63 lb and a 47” 45 lb fish. Ended the day with 143 lbs of fish. Jake was fantastic, the equipment and boat were in immaculate condition. Can’t wait to do it again.
