Are you looking for a family-friendly fishing adventure? Then look no further – Chick Charters has you covered. Owner and operator Captain Sandra is a local avid angler who has been fishing these waters her whole life. She offers her customers an Alaskan adventure of catching Salmon, creating beautiful memories that will last a lifetime in the process.
Hop on board the 'Scarlett Grace,' a classic 38' Californian Cruiser fishing boat restored in 2019. This boat is warm and cozy with plenty of room for groups of 6 to be trolling comfortably at the same time. The boat is decked out with full safety and navigational equipment, so you can fish with peace of mind. There is also a private restroom on board, as well as air conditioning.
You'll be targeting a range of Salmon species, including Coho, Chum, Chinook, and Pink Salmon. On a half day trip, it will take up to 25 minutes to get to the fishing grounds. On a full day trip, your lines will be in the water after 45–60 minutes.
Everyone is welcome on board. Children need to be over 4 years of age and there are life vests on board for them.
Everything you need for a fun and successful fishing trip is included in the price. You'll have top quality rods and reels from Penn and Shimano provided – these won't let you down when reeling in huge fish.
Juice, water, coffee, crackers, chips, cookies, and dips are provided on all trips. Feel free to bring alcohol along with you if you want. Licenses are not included in price, and they can be purchased online before your trip. There's an additional charge for fish processing and delivering if needed.

What an amazing fishing trip today with Sandra! It was two adults and one 8 year old. Easy to find boat after a refreshing walk from our cruise ship. Captain Sandra was so wonderful! Sandra had so much equipment and got us out and fishing fast. We got our early and because of that, maxed out the quota of 24!!! Salmon before 10 am. Sandra had great snacks and drinks, and made the day so much fun. She’s a local with lots of great info- we had a great lunch after her recommendation too. She took us to the processor to help get our fish shipped home. 10/10 recommend Sandra and Chick Charters!
I can’t recommend this enough!! My fiancé and I had an amazing fishing trip with Captain Sandra on the Scarlet Grace. It was just the two of us who booked for a half day and Captain Sandra was nice enough to let us fish a little longer than we’d originally booked to try to catch a monster king. We were fishing at an odd time due to our cruise ship schedule so didn’t catch any monsters big enough to send home. We did catch TONS (too many to count by memory) of medium to small sized kings that we would have kept to eat if we were staying in town. We appreciated how tenacious Captain Sandra was in her pursuit to try to get us some huge fish, even though we were 100% satisfied with our experience and all we caught. We loved chatting with Captain Sandra in between catches- she was incredibly knowledgeable about the area and fishing, as well as the perfect balance between professional but friendly and fun to talk to about really anything. Like I said, she let us gosh right up until we had to leave and even dropped us off right at our cruise ship. We were so pleased we purchased a Chick Charters T Shirt and Hoodie before we left to support her business. We will definitely recommend Chick Charters and Captain Sandra to any friends visiting Ketchikan and hope to be back again ourselves to check out one of her other tours. Thanks Captain Sandra!

We highly recommend Sandra's fishing trips! My father and I had a great fishing trip with Captain Sandra. It was just the two of us, and on other gentlemen on a 4-hour outing. We went out around 1:00 PM on a cold and rainy day, but that didn't deter Sandra. In a very short timer she had us catching a lot of king salmon. It was the highlight of our trip to Alaska! Thanks Sandra!
