Our autistic daughter has been dreaming of one thing for years - to catch our dinner on an ocean fishing trip. A few prior attempts did not go as hoped. This time was a hit - perfect fom start to finish! Making the reservation was easy and Captain Martin checked in right way. On fishing day, the taxi dropped us off at the wrong side of the harbour, but no problem - they came over and picked us up. Our skipper and first mate (Garcia and Ramon) knew what they were doing! They worked hard to find us a good fishing spot and our daughter checked off her bucket list item barely an hour into the trip - a huge sailfish, weighing probably 150 lbs! The crew immediately started cleaning the fish while also searching for more. The ceviche had to wait a few minutes while we reeled in a gorgeous mahi mahi. The ceviche was hands-down the best I have ever tasted. Of course, you can't get any fresher fish! We reeled in a second, even larger sailfish shortly after, but after the bragging-rights picture, we had it released. We already had more than enough fish for our use. We could not have asked for a better fishing trip, but it kept getting better! A couple of dolphins came to say hi, and we saw dozens of olive ridley sea turtles! Overall, an amazing experience and we will DEFINITELY book another trip with Cpt Brother's Boat.
We were on a family trip to Nayreit, and intended to give fishing a whirl while we were here. Ended up choosing this place, seemed established with a lot of decent reviews. We did the 8 hour trip, figured splurge a little. We had fished out of Tampa before, that is the extent of our saltwater fishing experience. We hoped for a larger predator fish outside the bay. Showed up to the harbor a little before 7am. Owner was there. Everything ran on time. Boat was very nice and clean. The ride out past the islands was very nice. I had never went fishing where I didn't rig my own lines out, that was weird for me. But they trolled for about 4-5 hours with zero success. That was disappointing, but whatever. We went out fishing, not catching. Are there other captains that would have done better? Perhaps. I have no clue, but so far the boat ride was nice and they were working hard, swapping lures etc. The mate offered sandwiches and was attentive/friendly. Water and beer was available. We brought some too and our own snacks from an oxxo. We went back towards the harbor and ended up fishing for some Jack Caraveles close to shore. We each caught one (4), they are fun to catch and put up a fight. I had no clue what they were, surprised at how red the fillets were. Ceviche was made out of it on board. It was really good, not as good as a white fillet would have been, but still good. We had no ability to take fish home this time. I should have tried communicating this better beforehand on the boat. My Spanish is really poor, and there was a bit of a language barrier. I had wrote it to the owner in prior communication when I booked to catch and release except for enough fish for the ceviche and a cook on shore. I don't think that was relayed. I did release 1 at least. The rest were taken by the mate, not sure if he really wanted them or not. The fish caught were fun, these Jacks are ok. Went to Eddies for the cook, did half batter fried and half grilled. Grilled is the way to go, absoluely delicious. So all in all, would have saved some money by just doing a 4 hour tour, as Jacks is a normal fish caught here. But the day out in the boat was worth something too, we had a good time. Wish we could have had more reel time, but it is what it is. Overall, it was a good way to spend some of our vacation.

Captain and crew member were on time and we left promptly at 7am. It took us 45 minutes to get to the fishing grounds and then it was game on. I am a somewhat experienced angler but I was with another adult who never fished and his 13 year old daughter and 8 year old son. Crew was easy going, patient, and helpful and got us on the fish. I think we each caught 2 fish for a total of 8. For the kids, it was the first time catching a fish which was fun an exciting for them. Crew made homemade ceviche from the fish we caught and it was delicious. This was a 6 hour trip and I felt that was the perfect amount of time because we had children with us. No big game fish that day but it wasn't for lack of trying. I've fished on a lot of charter fishing boats and this was a great experience for myself, my friend, and his family. Thanks Captain brother. See u next year!
Nos tocó mal clima pero el capitán y tripulante hicieron todo lo posible porque la pasáramos Bien. A pesca estuvo floja pero se intentó y se logró algo para el ceviche y todo. Muchas gracias.
The staff was awesome! The fishing was great, something my son and I will remember forever!!
