His charter caters to anglers of all levels, so you can enjoy a fun day on the water and create lasting memories with your family!
Capt. Dan invites you on his 33’ Wellcraft sportfisher, built for extreme offshore conditions and equipped with state-of-the-art amenities and electronics. The boat comes with top-notch navigational instruments, including a GPS, fishfinder, and Radar, as well as downriggers for trolling, a live bait tank for your catch, and a cooler for your food and drinks.
Inside the cabin, you’ll find plenty of space for you and 5 other guests to sit back, relax, and enjoy the ride. You’ll also have a private head, shower, bed, and kitchen with a microwave and fridge. The boat is also outfitted with a sound system so you can hook up your favorite tunes while you fish. Capt. Dan invites children of all ages and his boat is equipped with safety equipment and kids’ sized life jackets as well.
Your main targets are Rainbow, Brown, and Lake Trout, as well as Chinook and Coho Salmon. Capt. Dan is an expert in locating King Salmon and putting his customers on the big one. So experienced, .knowledgeable, friendly, enthusiastic, etc. Jeremy and Brady went ABOVE and BEYOND to ensure that everyone had a great time. They made the trip AWESOME! We caught a lot of fish. The 12 year old was in AWE!! The salmon were biting....everyone caught their fill. It was a GREAT time. Would definitely recommend this trip to everyone. Lake Michigan is beautiful, but we were able to enjoy and see things from a different perspective..

We caught some great looking Trout and even managed to snag a King Salmon on a day when they weren't biting. I wish I'd remembered the young crew members name because he deserves credit for working so diligently to ensure we had some great catches and provided help with reeling them in! The team answered all our questions and we left learning some interesting facts about the fish and the experiences on Lake Michigan. Upon departure, the Captain was kind enough to walk us through the cleaning and filet is the trout, even allowing my nephew to have his hand at trying, plus gave us a great recipe to try. I originally thought the price was a bit high for the experience but when the boat, equipment and service are top rate your don't mind paying that extra bit. Thank you Getaway Charter for the experience!

We came away with smiles, great memories and a lot of fish. The crew was able to get us on top of a bunch of fish. Seeing my Dad have a blast reeling in several fish made the experience that much more memorable. This trip was the perfect Father's Day present and I'm thankful Captain Dan and Brady were able to make it such a fun time on the lake. We went on 6 hours trip early morning, it was great experience for my kids. We were 3 teenagers, one 10 year old and 2 adults. We all really had great time and it was fun trip with Getaway Fishing Charters. I highly recommend them. EARLY 5AM LEAVING FROM DOC IS THE KEY. Dos: Carry mosquito spray, sunscreen, snacks, drinks, light meals, coolers are must. having music playlist is plus. Donts: Dont eat too much (motion sickness), dont wear cloths which are your favorite, as there might be some blood splash from fish if you are taking photos.
