Dirk Burkett Sportfishing welcomes kids aboard, so the whole family can come and unplug for the day! Children must wear life vests, so find out if the appropriate size is available on board. Feel free to bring your own snacks for a boost of energy when needed!
You'll be dropping lines from a 37' Sea Ray 370EC sportfishing vessel that can carry up to 6 passengers. It comes with downriggers and all the essentials. There's a toilet on board for your convenience. Your captain will provide rods and reels, as well as lures.
A First Mate will be there to make sure everything is running smoothly. A 10–20% tip is customary to show your appreciation for their hard work.
You will need to get a local fishing license before the trip. This information is usually available online, or you can ask the captain. Captain Dirk and his crew did an absolutely amazing job of putting us on the fish and bringing them into the boat. My teenage son and I ended up catching 10 fish despite an hour late start (our fault). They were exactly the kind of fish we wanted and more than once we were bringing in multiple fish at the same time. My son had a smile from ear to ear. Capt. Dirk and his crew were so welcoming and gracious, we felt right at home in no time. And all this took place while a crazy unexpected fog surrounded us, but he managed it like a complete pro and gave us an awesome day. We’ll fish with him again.
Thank you for giving us the opportunity to take you out, it was our pleasure. I hope to see you guys again!
Captain Dirk and Timmy gave our family an unforgettable evening fishing on Lake Michigan! They went above and beyond to make sure everyone had the time of their lives. Great crew and a beautiful, calm evening on the lake. We had a couple of coworkers visiting from out of the country who had never fished before. Dirk and Tim did a great job coaching them through getting their fish in the boat. They also shared some helpful tips and tricks I can use on my own boat. Couldn’t have asked for a better experience! Dirk and Timmy did a great job! Very funny and social fellas who work hard to get you on fish! the boat is bigger than many going out of thr same marina and that allows you to be comfortable the majority of the time especially when the fish are biting and during thr action times. Overall great experience!

Our crew was spot on with everything. Super friendly and worked hard to get fish on the boat. The weather was a bit rough and 1 of our party succumed to sea sickness. Other than that, it was. Perfect!
