Captain Michael Woodward has been fishing his whole life, and he spent the last 15 years exploring the abundance of the Tillamook Bay area. Today, he shares his experience and knowledge with his customers.
You'll be fishing out of a 21' Willie Boat aluminum fisher with twin 115 HP Yamaha engines. There's room on board for up to 4 anglers to relax and fight their catch. The vessel sports reliable navigational electronics to show you where the fish hide and a live bait well.
Capt. Michael will provide quality fishing equipment for you, including Okuma, Shimano, Lemiglas, and Abu Garcia tackle. There's also an assortment of lures to choose from, and if you prefer live bait, sand shrimp is the most productive option. But what will you be targeting?
You can take your pick between bottom fishing for Lingcod, Halibut, and Rockfish or trolling for Steelhead and Salmon. From April all through December, Chinook and Coho Salmon reign supreme in the local rivers and bays.
Going after them will be both fun and challenging, and Capt. Michael will make sure to take you to the best bite. After the trip, your guide can clean and fillet the catch for your convenience, so you can serve it for dinner as soon as you come home.
Get your fishing license with appropriate tags before you hit the water, and bring plenty of food, drinks, and snacks. Feel free to come with your kids, Capt. Michael will show your little ones some fun fishing tricks, and he'll also have life jackets for them.

Great day celebrating both Birthdays on the boat and a beautiful Spring Chinook salmon.
We booked go all day but caught our limits in an hour. Good problem to have. We explored the bay and river for a little while. Saw several bald eagles and a group of seals on a sandbar. Instructions were clear on where and when to show up. Rules and expectations were set. Efficient fish fillet. Amazing. We we could have stayed on the boat longer. Maybe trying to target other things. Ocean was not an option with rougher than normal waves. But we had fun catching some beautiful Chinook
Michael was a great captain very knowledgeable and good at what he dose. Put on salmon and limited us out in a quick2 hours,I would recommend him to anyone that wants a awesome fishing trip.

I have loved fishing since I was old enough to walk. It's always humbling and amazing to learn new ways of catching fish, and this is one of the reasons I fell in love with it in the first place. I deeply love the Tillamook area and especially the Trask River, which is probably my favorite place to fish. When I take my customers out, I don't look at my watch – I treat every outing as a fun day with friends!
