Dos Mas Sport Fishing is inviting offshore fanatics to join them on an adventure that will take you on a trip exploring the richest fishing grounds off the coast of Golfito, Costa Rica. Captain Donald Mc Guinness has over 40 years of experience fishing all over the world and catching many of the world's most prized fish species.
His most impressive catch is certainly the massive, 1236-pound Black Marlin caught in 2006. On your trip, you'll be able to leverage your captain's vast experience to get the best possible shot at a catch of a lifetime!
The boat that'll take you to the deep waters is a 30' Island Hopper express cruiser, powered by 450 HP Cummins engine. Restored as recently as 2019, the vessel features the latest communication, navigation, radar, and fish-finding electronics as well as all the necessary safety equipment. Giving its guests everything they could need for a safe and productive trip.
Creature comforts have also been taken care of as the boat is fully outfitted for multi-day trips. On board, you'll find 2 bunk beds, a private toilet, shower, and kitchen, as well as a multimedia system for entertainment. The vessel's max capacity is 8 guests on single-day and 4 guests on multi-day trips.
The captain will provide you with everything you need to fish. You'll be equipped with first-class Shimano, Tiagra, and Trinus gear and will have access to both conventional and spinning options. There will also be a variety of artificial lures and live bait, depending on the fish you're targeting. Live bait will be caught ahead of the trip and is always included in the price.
On all trips, you'll be provided with sandwiches, snacks, fruit, and drinks. On multi-day trips, you'll also have hot meals prepared. All you need to bring is some sunscreen, sunglasses, a hat.

We took Captain Don out for the 12 hour trip and got picked up in Pavones off the beach which made it very convenient for our stay instead of traveling to Golfito. we caught two selfish and lost another also a 200 pound tuna and a 20 pound mahi! Andy the first mate was right on top of things! Captain Dan never overstay in one place if we were not catching fish. I would highly recommend this boat and doing a 12 hour fishing trip!
Captain Donald was beyond accommodating for us as we had a travel mishap. He did everything in his power to make our trip happen and not only did we catch fish. We caught our target. Andy was great as well. I highly recommend anyone coming to Gulfito/Puerto Jimenez. we caught two monster rooster fish and plenty of grouper. We got to enjoy our catch at a local restaurant they recommended nearby.

We went out again, Sunday, February 1 for a second 12 hour trip. Although the action was slower that day, we did manage to get a nice mahi and a couple of good sale fish. We also had a big monster tuner hit one of the lighter rods. Overall, I would recommend anyone booked the 12 hour trip. Captain Dan in the first maid Andy worked very hard to accommodate passengers.

Great trip! We booked a 12 hour trip targeting marlin and sailfish. First few hours were not productive but Captain McGuinness worked to get us to the right spot. He is a wealth of knowledge, with experience that money can't buy. His crew was also amazing. They would go from relaxing with us to feet on the deck getting prepped for fish at the slightest whistle from the captain. My family looks forward to another trip on the DOS MAS!
took 5 family members on this trip, most of whom are extremely inexperienced at offshore fishing. Captain Donald and deckhand were instrumental in helping them land some fish. We caught several sailfish and big dorado. Everyone was happy!
