Dos Mas Sport Fishing is inviting offshore fanatics to join them on an adventure that will take you on a trip exploring the richest fishing grounds off the coast of Golfito, Costa Rica. Captain Donald Mc Guinness has over 40 years of experience fishing all over the world and catching many of the world’s most prized fish species.
His most impressive catch is certainly the massive, 1236-pound Black Marlin caught in 2006. On your trip, you’ll be able to leverage your captain’s vast experience to get the best possible shot at a catch of a lifetime!
The boat that’ll take you to the deep waters is a 30’ Island Hopper express cruiser, powered by 450 HP Cummins engine. Restored as recently as 2019, the vessel features the latest communication, navigation, radar, and fish-finding electronics as well as all the necessary safety equipment. Giving its guests everything they could need for a safe and productive trip.
Creature comforts have also been taken care of as the boat is fully outfitted for multi-day trips. On board, you’ll find 2 bunk beds, a private toilet, shower, and kitchen, as well as a multimedia system for entertainment. The vessel’s max capacity is 8 guests on single-day and 4 guests on multi-day trips.
The captain will provide you with everything you need to fish. You’ll be equipped with first-class Shimano, Tiagra, and Trinus gear and will have access to both conventional and spinning options. There will also be a variety of artificial lures and live bait, depending on the fish you’re targeting. Live bait will be caught ahead of the trip and is always included in the price.
On all trips, you’ll be provided with sandwiches, snacks, fruit, and drinks. On multi-day trips, you’ll also have hot meals prepared. All you need to bring is some sunscreen, sunglasses, a hat.

No nonsense Charter
Of the dozen or so fishing charters that I have done, this is far and away the best. Captain Donald runs an fast paced and efficient operation. He is on top of all the lines and constantly checking and changing lures and bait as the conditions demand. He knows where to find the fish and what to do to catch them. If you are looking for a relaxing sight seeing, swimming, and snorkeling charter then find another boat. If you are looking to catch fish, this is your boat!

Great choice
We have gone on many offshore fishing trips in many different areas/countries, and have owned our own offshore boats as well. Fishing with Donald was great. He was fun and very knowledgeable. We did catch some great fish, but the reason I will definitely fish with him again is the quality of the trip. If you want a great trip out of Golfito, you can go wrong with Dos Mas

Great day with Captain Donald and Andy. Didn't find our intended targets of Rooster and Sailfish, but nonetheless, had great action and tight lines through the day. Tuna were on 🔥. Inshore we also grabbed a nice Blue Jack and Cubera Snapper.
