Join Flyer Sportfishing on an adrenaline-pumping adventure off the island of Oʻahu. Captain Jared Dow or Captain Alex Uhlmann will take you fishing in some of the remotest waters off the North Shore to put you on big game fish. They accommodate all skill levels and invite you and your family on a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to experience Hawaii like never before!
You’ll be fishing off of a 31’ Eastern downeast, equipped with all the technology and amenities to ensure a successful day on the water. She’s powered by a 380 HP Cummins engine and comes with state-of-the-art navigational electronics to put you on fish with ease. She’s also outfitted with downriggers, outriggers, a fighting chair, and a livewell. You and 4 other guests will be able to fish comfortably at the same time and children above the ages of 5 are welcome aboard.
You can expect to target the biggest and “baddest” fish during your journey. Half-day trips will take you up to 15 miles from the coast, while full-day trips will see you fishing 30 miles offshore. No matter what you choose, your captain guarantees a great time!
Your main target species will include Yellowfin Tuna, Mahi Mahi, Marlin, Spearfish, Wahoo, and Skipjack. You’ll be provided with top-quality Shimano rods and reels, so you can fish like a pro. You’ll also be supplied with high-performance lures, and live bait will be caught on the trip.
You can keep up to 20lb of fish on half-day trips and 40lb on full-day trips, just bear in mind all caught specimens that are over 100lb are kept by the crew in their entirety. Fish cleaning and filleting services are included as well, so you can take home a delicious meal for the family.
Your fishing license is covered, so just come straight to the Haleʻiwa Boat Harbor, grab some sunscreen, and bring snacks and drinks for the ride. Please note GE tax(4,75%) and Harbor tax(3%) are not included in the price.

Captain Alex and Mate Miguel were outstanding, confident, friendly, and operated as a well-oiled machine. Captain was very safety conscious and kept an eye on us to avoid problems, since my husband and I are first timers at deep sea fishing. Captain was fun and entertaining. My husband and I had an awesome time and a successful day in catching 3 great favorites in one trip which were Blue Marlin, Yellowfin Tuna, and 4 large Maji-Maji. Boat was comfortable and entirely adequate for a long day at sea.

Captain Alex and First Mate Dustin absolutely killed it on our charter fishing tour! We caught an insane 11 Mahi Mahi and 3 Skip Jack Tuna - what a haul! The crew was top-notch, knowledgeable, and made sure we were having a blast. They handled everything so we could focus on the thrill of the catch. I booked a trip for me, my daughter, and her father-in-law in early October with Flyer Sportfishing out of Haleiwa on O’ahu, HI. Captain Alex and Miguel were very friendly and informative. We originally booked a half-day trip but ended up going for a full day and it was great! We finished with 4 Skipjack tuna and 7 mahi-mahi in the boat. Highly recommend. Very good experience!

It’s just the way it goes, sometimes ya get fish and sometimes ya don’t! But we gotta biggin!! 13 year old pulled in a big tuna. Long day trolling but worth it for that fish and the smile on my sons face! Thanks yall!!

i don't know... Something about standing there cranking the reel while they pull the fish in by hand, just didn't do it for me. They didn't feel like i understood keeping the line taught, so i cranked when they said crank and stopped when they said stop. It just wasn't fun for me. It was never really about me fishing. I think the bigger picture was about getting the fish to market. Couple thousand bucks just to crank on a reel, just wasn't fun. I got a little bothered that the Captain was doing exactly what he asked me not to do on a retrieve. They even took over the reel cranking at one point, so i just say back and watched them get the fish in. Honestly it was more entertaining watching them do it.
its always a challenge figuring out an anglers skill set on the fly. Most novise anhlers welcome the help. i talked to Capt. Alex about this and in afterthought he thought he should have insisted you got in the fighting chair and did it all your self. Sorry about that and hope your next trip out is funner for you!

Jared grew up in Santa Barbara, California, where he spent most of his life fishing, diving, and surfing. He's been fishing in Hawaii since 1996 and became a licensed captain in '98. He's competed in tournaments all over the world, including in Mexico, Panama, Costa Rica, and the Caribbean. Some of the tournaments he's participated in include Bisbee's Black & Blue, the Blue Marlin World Cup, Kona Billfish Series, Signature Series Costa Rica, and many more.
